It sucks!! Moochie isn't the PG that can run this team... (36 minutes 2 assists) why didn't we start Nachbar? I thought he was NBA-ready? If we would have known Rudy was going to go back to his 3 guard lineup, why didn't we just draft Jay Williams instead?

I know. Here we go again with the same Sh**. I can't understand it either. I know Nach is a rookie but damn he is still a first rounder.

    Play him!!!!!

I agree with you and its frustrating. Im guessing Rudy thinks Bostjan Nachbars game doesn't mesh well with the one-on-one style of Francis and Mobley. Seriously, we are not going anywhere with Moochie and that damn three guard lineup, so why not learn and grow with your new guys who at least have a team oriented style of play about them ... a style of play that may be become contagious and spread to the rest of the team .

I like the point about drafting Jay Williams. If we are consistantly going to run the 3 guard offense, might as well find a third guard. The limited amount of time I saw Nachbar play, I thought he looked pretty good.

Big mistake by Rudy. The starting lineup should have included Boki. What the hell? Very poor spacing on the floor.

I hate the 3 guard lineup as much as anyone. In fact, they listed Boki as starting adn then I saw Mooch on the floor. Almost turned the TV off right then. But, I am going to give RT the benefit of the doubt and say he knows what he is doing, for now. But enough of the 3 guard lineup!!

i think it would have helped to have moch to come off the bench. that way their could be one bench player with some experience. then they could have run the three gaurd offence, and added a little energy.
instead all the subs were rookies in thier very first nba game or collier with two years of injured reserve coming in and while not looking bad did nothing to get the rockets going, and provide steve with people he felt less comfortable giving the ball.

I guessing by the box score that no one meshes well with the 1-on-1 style.

Ced, Start Yao with Cato. Pacers didn't have their starting guards. If the #1 pick can't start, then why draft him? Rudy didn't have the guards pick up 94 ft. Dumb! No ballhandlers. They didn't press late in the 4th! Rudy is so lost! No playoffs!

I thought to have Moochie play point guard is better than to
have Stevie or Cat play for the position. At least we know Moochie won't hold the ball that long, he will pass the ball.
Unfortunately, most times he passes the ball to Stevie or Cat
and those two guys will choose to go one on one instead of playing team basketball.

    By definition a point guard....

    sets up plays
distributes the ball where others can score
gets everyone else involved in the flow of the offense
    is a good assist player
    quarterbacks the offense
    finds the open man

The Rockets do not have one point guard on the team

Mooch probably had 15 assists. He tossed it to Cat and Steve and they dribbled too much before they scored for him to get the assist credit. They both had a good audience all night. The rest of the team should know how to dribble now, after watching those two!

The game was lost on the offensive glass. Griffin, Ming and Collier were horrible. EG grabbed a few boards in the second half but gave up too many second hand points. 1-11? Ming looked like his feet were planted in concrete. Collier? Wow is he horrible.

    We should have kept Tierre...

C'mon Rice, KT, MT, TMo. AND EG and Yao Ming. We need you!

I have a question, who was Rudy supposed to start at SF? Nachbar is still a rookie and learning, and it showed last night.

I would have liked to have seen:

    Yao Ming
    Cato
    EG
    Steve
    Cat

Same thing I was thinking... You got to get the jitters and nervousnous out of his system now, otherwise whenever he comes off the bench hes not going to produce right in the begining like he shown last night. Hes the #1 pick at least show why he was the #1 pick by playing him, 11 minutes won't cut it especially with all the people that were injured.

I don't ever remember a #1 pick not starting, Kwame Brown started his first game. Most #2 picks start as well... even Rudy started Steve Francis his rookie season, and he evolved well.

When is the last time a #1 pick didn't start? I have a question, when is the last time a #1 pick traveled from another country 1 week before the season started and had to learn an entirely different offense in a different league learning a new language?

I know someone that wasn't a number #1 but was the #3 pick, which is worst, Pau Gasol ring a bell? Yea he didn't join the Grizzlies 1 week before the season, but he did have to travel from SPAIN, learn an ENTIRELY different offense in a different league, while learning a new language, and being on a crappy team the Grizz. Better yet Gasol is only 2 MONTHS older than Yao Ming, he came into the league younger and 1 year earlier than Yao. Yet somehow he managed 17.6 ppg 8.9 boards and the ROY award not bad eh?
