We call it the expressway to nowhere this is a pickle. Everyone wants to live out there cuz its pretty and scenic. But you can't expand the existing road to get out there, because you ruin the prettiness and scenicness. And they are building more office space out there. What a problem.
Dont even get me started on the bass-akwards reasoning behind the Austin area highway infrastructure......
When I first came to Texas over 20 years ago, I loved Austin and thought about moving there. Now I hate the place. Austin is the poster child for ruining a local culture by growing way too fast. I only go there on business now and limit that to once/year.
Having spent the majority of the past 4 years in Austin, I can guarantee you there is nothing wrong with ruining Austin's local culture.
