I think if the Rocks played with a sense of urgency, the loses to bad teams would be minimized. Frankly, Houston should not have lost to a lot of these teams, and good teams only lose occasionally. Bad or mediocre teams lose to other Bad and mediocre teams all the time. Houston fits into the latter category right now. Clips, Griz, Knicks, Warriors...etc...etc...etc... DD
Dont be too hard to yourself. What happened has happened. Let's all hope Rox got 4 W in this week, climb to the 5th or 4th seed again.
And people on this board would still be complaining about: * E.G. is disappointing! * Moochie sucks! * Mobley shoots too much! * Let's trade for Zhi Zhi and Bateer! * Francis should be at SG! * Mo-T ain't what he used to be! * Rice can't play D! * Yao needs to ditch that dumb bracelet! etc. The biggest problem with the Rockets this year is that on their good nights, they give us all the impression that they're about to become an elite team. The truth is that they're still a bit raw and probably won't get there until next year. This year, they'll get into the playoffs, get some experience and maybe torpedo a higher seed. Anything else is icing on the cake.
Some addition: * Yao needs to get the da#n ball more! * Boki needs to get playing time! * Fire Rudy if he doesn't let Boki play and put Cato with Ming And people on this board would still be complaining about : * E.G. is disappointing! * Moochie sucks! * Mobley shoots too much! * Let's trade for Zhi Zhi and Bateer! * Francis should be at SG! * Mo-T ain't what he used to be! * Rice can't play D! * Yao needs to ditch that dumb bracelet! etc. * Give Yao the damn ball more! * Give Boki some playing time! * Put Cato together with Ming in a game! * Cato can't score! * Fire Rudy T! He doesn't want to listen to us, the most knowledgable fans!
Well that's the beauty of the standings right now...the 3rd through the 8th seeds are only seperated by about 3 games...so if the Rox hit a win streak, a solid win streak, we're right back up there again.
Only at the end of this season, the overall standing will be determined. The current sub-500 does not mean the final sub-500. Any team can improve in the course of the season.
Which is why I didnt include say Portland and the Lakers on that list...I only included the basement teams, the Grizzlies, the Clippers, Knicks, Warriors, etc, teams that have next to no chance of ending the season above .500 and teams that the Rockets clearly are better than...sure, at the end of the seaon anything is possible for these teams, they could make it above .500....just like Moochie could, by the end of the season, learn to stop dribbling the shot clock out
