I was just reading about how some people on their 21st birthday do 21 shots in 1 hour??? Are people freaking kidding with this? Apparently, this practice has resulted in the deaths of numerous people over the past couple of years. First, why would you do something like that in the first place? Even if you survive, you are going to be unreal sick. Second, what is the point of pushing people into doing something that could potentially kill them? What kind of friends are those? Sheesh.
I did 12 shots in a hour before, and end up passing out in the parking lot outside a club, so I probably won't do 21 shots when I turn 21.
It's called "power hour." Apparently it’s done on the stroke of midnight on the day someone turns 21. As thegary said, thank god I'm past that! Oh and the legal drinking age at the time was 18 for me!
It's a widely believed fact that you can't die when you are 21. DP: You see like a.. little naked dude out in the street anywhere? Frylock: Yeah.. I think he's dead. DP: Are you serious? Well, when he wakes up, make him drink.
Evolution at work again. Word of advice to anyone thinking about doing something this stupid. Don't be a lemming.
When I worked at a bar in my twenties, there was a cook named Russ that took a guy out on his 21st birthday. He took this guy to 21 different strip clubs and got him a shot and lap dance at each one (he took contributions to fund this little escapade apparently) when they came back at 2:30 the dude was so drunk he had hung his head out the passenger side window and thrown up all over the outside of Russ's truck. Russ just took him to the car wash and sprayed the guy and his truck down in one pass. Every dude under 21 was like, "I wanna go out with Russ for my 21st Birthday!"
"Power Hour" is for wussies. "Lost Weekend" is where it's at. 100 beers between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday. My favorite drinking game was always the one where you opened a beer or mixed a drink and took a sip whenever you were thirsty.
I participated in "Century Club" back in my college days, which was 100 shots of beer in 100 hours. On the surface, that may not sound like much (because it's beer), but it really is. Ugh. My stomach churns just thinking about it. I will say that the conversations at the end of the 100 minutes were a hell of a lot funnier than the ones at the start of the contest. BTW, I had a few shots on my 21st birthday, but nowhere near 21. I guess, unlike others, I like being alive and stuff.
Power hour is a shot (usually of beer) every minute for an hour, while usually listening to music w/ 1min tracks. You're getting old
100 shots? That's like what? 20 bottles? And you got 4 days to do it. Even those guys drink more that that:
i'm not sure if 21 shots can kill you. I did 17 in about 45 minutes. Of course I threw up an hour after that, but that's not the point
