How does Nolan not get nominated for best director? The guy came up with an original idea and pulled it off with flying colours, rare in Hollywood. True Grit and The Fighter are great, but they were not original, one was based off a book and the other was a true story.
Too many good scenes for Garfield not to get nominated in Social Network. Bale should win, but Garfield should have made the list. <iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sPlzlVegfbA" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen></iframe>
I can't stress enough how perfectly he executed that scene. He had that look of pent up rage, sickness, and shock that one only experiences when they've just discovered that they've been betrayed by someone they trusted. I've felt exactly that way when finding out a gf was cheating on me some years ago, but I could never be asked to reenact it so genuinely. Has to be my most memorable scene from any film this year.
