Yes, the rumors are that when the ESPN deals come up for renewal with major carriers, ESPN is going to bundle the LHN with the likes of ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc essentially forcing providers to add it. That said, it is not about the LHN. The LHN is the example that pushed it over the top. It is about a conference that allows one member to do things like ... 1) Take Conference Game and put it on their 3rd tier network 2) Show HS Highlights even after everyone agrees to not show HS content 3) Exclude themselves from a larger Big XII network The LHN is a symptom of a much bigger problem in the Big XII, and the schools that could get out, are. The only ones staying are the ones without any better options, and you are kidding yourselves if you think OU wouldn't have gone Pac XII if the door was open. It's just too bad for them, they are in Oklahoma, which doesn't add much TV revenue to a conference, especially when they have to drag Okie State along with them.
If you mean great propaganda piece by der fuhrer, then sure. According to Dodds, they have saved the Big XII twice, and it is all for the kids. Despite the fact that they would love to be in the Pac if they could have kept their precious network.

OK lets be honest. This is not a piece written by an Oklahoma reporter. It is a verbatim reporting of exactly what Dodds says. There is no opinion or slant from the reporter at all. All he did was ask questions and report the answers. This is a DeLoss Dodds propaganda piece.
This is what Aggies don't get. We like the annual game but ATM has never been our main rival. Oklahoma is the only game we really care about.
I don't know any Aggies that think the A&M game is more important to UT than the Oklahoma game. To say that the A&M game is not more important than the other games on your schedule is a bold faced lie as shown by all the UT butthurt when A&M decided to leave and not play by Texas' rules. You didn't see that reaction when Nebraska or Colorado left. Oh sorry, "It's all about the kids in Texas" right? hahaha What I don't think you get is that while UT is our main rival, we are just fine not playing Texas either. We are happy to play if/when UT is ready (when Dodds retires), but our schedule will be just fine without UT. That said, there are a few idiot Aggie Legislators that may try to force the game, but they are getting destroyed by 95% of Aggie fans.
I know a TON of fans, including myself, that are waiting to get it. I wasn't sure about the whole thing at first but after seeing a couple of the programs (i.e. All Access, Rewind with Mack Brown, The Season, etc...), there's actually a lot to watch if you're a die hard fan.
I would definitely pay 5 bucks more a month for the TLN if I had a choice. I would get to see every Texas football and basketball game would sure make it worthwhile. If would I were a baseball fan, it would be worth even more because its hard to catch Texas baseball on TV.
The only thing that made the ATM more important was the schedule. The last game of the season on Thanksgiving weekend. It decided what bowl we would end up playing. If it were Arkansas or Tech, I would just as important if not more.

Have you heard any longhorn fans pissed about about Dodds' statement concerning not scheduling you guys. Do you hear any major boosters concerned about it. Nope, because we really don't care.
One cable company offered that option to ESPN - to let ESPN charge whatever they want and collect 100% of it, but make it optional for subscribers. ESPN said no. They want everyone to be forced to carry it, and cable companies are rightfully saying no at the price they are asking. BYUtv is available because they charged a more reasonable price.
