    He helped produce "Precious"

anything associated with him deserves an automatic disqualification.

Again you prove your ignorance in film. Up in the Air was the best movie I saw this year and I think its a damn shame that Anna Kendrick doesn't stand a chance at best supporting actress. Great Acting, Great soundtrack, Great Director.

Avatar was great, not amazing... but nothing else is going to knock it down. The Hurt Locker has the best chance but I don't see it happening. It didn't really captivate me at all, I thought it was really well done but it just didn't do much for me.

Anyway this is how it will play out.

    Best Picture - Avatar
    Best Director - Cameron
    Best Actor - Bridges
    Best Actress - Bullock

The best Supportings aren't even close. MoNique and Waltz in a landslide.

Good point. I just think that some movies, whether fair or not, get lost in the shuffle. I thought The Last Emperor was an excellent movie, yet you can't even find it in most video stores, whereas The Godfather, Schindler's List, etc. are everywhere. Ultimately, it's interesting to see which movie wins and which are known throughout the years, but movies are still about personal taste.

For example, I think that Stripes is one of the top 10 movies of all time. Why not? Just because it's a comedy, it usually gets swept under the rug.

Plus, Alfred Hitchcock, Robert Altman, and Stanley Kubrick have never won a Best Director Academy Award. Three best directors of all time (IMHO) and not one Oscar for any of them. So much for the Oscar.

Maybe you should at least watch a movie before commenting on it.

But continue to talk out of your incredibly ignorant ass.

    It amuses me.

I said it looked like a chick flick, am I not allowed to talk about why the movie did not look appealing to me? I also can't stand Clooney. You getting upset about how others feel about movies amuses me, so I hope this post upsets you.

Inglourious Basterds was the best movie last year, hands down. Avatar was great...............visually. Story was horrid. Like a beautiful model with no depth. I liked Hurt Locker, but feel it was a little overhyped.

Dude that played Hans Landa should get best supporting.

My best actor award would go to Sam Rockwell for the role he played in Moon. That dude was money and made it the second best movie I saw last year.

I completely agree with this. Rockwell was amazing. Too bad neither he nor "Moon" were nominated for anything. What a shame.

I'm not sure I can continue living in a world where Mo'nique wins an Academy Award.

I really enjoyed avatar but outside of the amazing special effects I don't think it was as quality a story as either Basterds or Up In The Air. I could watch either of those multiple times without the need for 3d glasses and an Imax screen. District 9 was good but not great. Haven't seen Hurt Locker yet.

Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick should win something just for looking awesome...

Well, I always cringe when I hear people talking about stuff that's "overrated." First of all, why bother pay attention to the raters? Can't you make up your own mind without a critic or friend saying "yay" or "nay"? Hey, if you don't like someone's work, fine, say, "I don't like their work." Besides, it implies that you're already going in with a prejudiced view of said person's work.
