I guess the NFL is really serious of not making any mistakes this year. Instead of any new young celebrity, they went with Paul McCartney as their act.

So basically they are giving everyone a reason to change the channel when the halftime show starts.

I can't believe they really went that conservative with their show.

I think they had a problem with the CD player that was supposed to play her lyrics with the band.

Nothing honestly...i have liked his music in the past, but it just doens't seem like a right fit for the superbowl and all the hype.

I am sure the concessions and bathrooms are going to be busy during halftime cause no one will want to watch the show.

I mean it's the superbowl...come on...they could have done better.

do you actually enjoy the timberlake/spears/ashlee simpson/other young, crappy pop-singer halftime show??? i'm ecstatic that they've finally given up on trying to be "hip" w/ the younger crowd and gone to good artists.

give me paul mccartney any day.

NO i don't enjoy that but i guess i would enjoy a little mix of both in some ways...some bit of new stuff with maybe a mix of the old. I guess i will leave my judgment till after the show and see how it is.

the ratings would be huge for ashlee simpson. everyone tuning in to see how much she gets booed. think of all the people who didn't see the championship game fiasco, they'll all tune in. they dropped the ball on this one if they want ratings.

I liked it the year they mixed it up with Aerosmith with Brittney and N'sync. I AM IN NO WAY a brittney or N'sync fan, but it was a good mix of older music with a new twist.

The halftime show will not "suffer" because of Paul McCartney... I'd much rather have him on there (as long as Terry Bradshaw doesn't try to sing with him) than any Simpson, Janet, Britney, or any other lip-synching act they could end up getting (hell... even 'classy' Shania Twain was lip-synching two years ago).

    I'd watch Paul.

Maybe I'm getting, but some of these young talents are always a disappointment anyway. Now if Jessica Simpson could flash a nipple - I'm there.

    I love my DVR. :)

Are you guys kidding ? People love Paul McCartney. You know, more than just 14 year olds that watch MTV are going to watch the super bowl @ McCartney is class act. HAS to be better than the MTV halftime **** we had last year.

I am not saying that i like the MTV half time show or anything but i guess i wish it had more Rock and Hype music in it....like seriously some aerosmith and some other bands pushed into one and doing like a cross sort of maybe Linkin Park Jay Z kind of that thing would be a lot more fun i think.

Wonder what song Macca will perform.

    Live and Let Die?
    Hey Jude?
    Let it Be?
    Obla Di Obla Dah?
    Maxwell Silver's Hammer?
Say Say Say? (with cameo appearance of Jacko?)

I think Paul McCartney is great....as long as he does not reveal his pierced nipple!
