Granted, there are a lot of things we would all like to see happen, BUT with Griffin apparently being groomed for the 3 as both he and the Rockets have stated. Is this the likely lineup for next year?

    Francis/Norris
    Mobley/Torres
    Griffin/Rice
    Taylor/Thomas
    Cato/Collier

Or is that even being optimistic? Will the Rockets start Rice instead of Griffin?

I realize that this is just a starting lineup, players play multiple positions and don't necessarily defend their own position. I'm just curious how the Rockets will go about satisfying egos and doling out playing time.

I assume you meant Moochie as the backup PG. I wouldn't be surprised, & I expect, to see a different starting center by next year. Also, I find it hard to believe that Griffin is going to play the SF position, since he's only been playing the 4/5 positions this year. I read where Griffin made the comment, but when & who made the comment from the Rockets coaching staff?

I don't see Griffin being groomed to play the 3 at all. The vast majority of his minutes this season have come at the 4 and 5.

    Right, Norris as the backup.

I believe it was CD or Rudy who made the comment about Griffin playing the 3. There was another thread based on the comment. Believe it came from the Chronicle.

I'm sure Griffin will still see minutes at the 4/5, but once Taylor comes back, assuming we keep Thomas, I think the Rockets plans are for Griffin to play the 3.

I think that's the "keep everyone happy" lineup. Unless they move Taylor, which I don't see happening, he's the starting 4. Thomas might be trade-bait, or part of a trade, so that could free up more minutes for Griffin at the 4.

If the Rockets have any plans at all of putting Griffing at the 3 next year then why have they not played him even one minute there this year? With Thomas back in the starting line up why not go ahead and get Griff some minutes at the three? I don't think the Rockets see Eddie as a 3 at all which is why he has played all of his minutes at the 4/5.

When Mo comes back I definitely see him logging some minutes at the 3. He has an explosive first step like Kenny and a much better outside shot. Mo would create many mismatches at 3 with his strength. Eddie will be this teams defensive stopper in the paint in the future so I just don't see him playing the 3.
