Yep, I just made it in a few weeks before the post count was raised. We voted over there to only raise it to 5000. Feel lucky, because many people wanted it raised to 7000!
How weird would it be if we only had a finite number of posts? Like 5000. People would get to 4000 and everyone would be thinking that "their time is coming..." At 4500 People would be typing: "Man I hate it that you are almost out of posts." and the poster would turn in to like a wise old sage with every post savored, none wasted. Towards the VERY end, say 4,990 he would start giving his away his signature, explaining his moniker in depth, and admitting and confessing things he'd done wrong...he'd go on apologizing to fellow bbs'ers he pissed off. Then the last post. It would be ALWAYS be a thread starter titled "My last post" (Like we've never seen that title before) In it the poster would pour out all of his wisdom and knowledge. He would cry as he typed. He would run through some of his favorite posters that had crossed over: "Some of you young guys don't remember Jeff. He was an amazing musician with impeccable taste in music. When I was a spry young 2000er he was getting up there in posts. Jeff was the JAck-of-all-trades and master-of-all-trades and I miss him dearly. And Manny Ramirez...It will be nice to join him on the other side.Fadeaway, RocketsPimp, codell, Raven Lunati...the memories I have of all of the fallen ones." Then he'd start towards his end. "And now I must go but fear not my fellow posters, for the other side is a new journey that I welcome with open arms. Yea I will miss all of you and thou wilt be in my posts on other BBS's and nea shall I return here, to ClutchCity...Yes it will ALWAYS be ClutchCity to me...I hope I have left a positive mark on you all. that's awesome chance...that's funny. i think ppl would think twice abt what they are saying and choose wisely on replies if there was a finite number of posts allowed.
I finally unlocked the Steve Francis code and he got traded away. Now I gotta wait another grand and a half before they give me the Deke Mutombo access. At this rate, I'll never get to swap recipes with Yao and his family!
The amazing thing is, that what you see in that picture is all NATURAL! I'm just thankful to the members of the clique for grandfathering in the first 3000 member numbers so that I could confirm that fact with Hugh Hefner himself.
