don't think i could limit it to one question, but since my main problems with Obama are philosophical, rather than policy specific (other than, you know, the 23 Trillion dollars), I might ask him how he could spend the past 4 years criticizing every aspect of the Bush presidency, in extremely harsh terms, and then the past 6 months replicating or continuing many of the policies he found so objectionable on the campaign trail?

He was talking about Bush's press conferences which were exceptionally tame. Seriously, its at the point where it bothers me, but why do you always answer everything with a question? Do you have any personal thoughts on anything? I posted earlier that somewhere within Basso, there's a set of real substantiated opinions on something. I think I was wrong.
If he were to answer you candidly he'd say inertia is a b****. Then, if he were interested in your opinion, he might ask why you supported or were silent on many of those same policies over the last 4 years and yet criticize them so harshly now. He then might ask whether you think your party would have attempted anything different. Criticism rings hollw unless you offer an alternative. And, yes, gifford -- I should be beaten on the head too

That controversy was propelled by critical Democrats and was before Obama's brief Senate tenure. But wait! Here are a few promises straight off the Obama Organizing for America website early this morning: The Problem Lobbyists Write National Policies: For example, Vice President Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force of oil and gas lobbyists met secretly to develop national energy policy. Secrecy Dominates Government Actions: The Bush administration has ignored public disclosure rules and has invoked a legal tool known as the "state secrets" privilege more than any other previous administration to get cases thrown out of civil court. Oh, and this: Release Presidential Records: Obama and Biden will nullify the Bush attempts to . . . . . . make the timely release of presidential records more difficult. And this: Make White House Communications Public: Obama will amend executive orders to ensure that communications about regulatory policymaking between persons outside government and all White House staff are disclosed to the public. Conduct Regulatory Agency Business in Public: Obama will require his appointees who lead the executive branch departments and rulemaking agencies to conduct the significant business of the agency in public, so that any citizen can see in person or watch on the Internet these debates. These statements are on the same Web page as a highlighted Obama campaign quote: "I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington. . . . I'm asking you to believe in yours." The citizen ethics group has threatened to file a lawsuit against Obama as early as today despite an administration claim that it was reviewing policies. But it's an inconsistency that someone might ask the president about at his Cleveland town hall meeting Thursday and/or during his prime-time news conference this evening (5 p.m. Pacific, 8 p.m. Eastern). But then the other day, as we duly noted here, Biden's White House schedule suddenly stopped listing "private meetings." Instead, it began calling them "meetings that are closed press." Dear Basso, Just because some of us voted for Obama doesn't mean we defend everything he does. It may come as a shocker to you, but you can vote for someone AND criticize some of the things they do. You see most people have opinions that don't always conform to the actions of a candidate or a political party.
and i criticized Bush about many things. and while "some" of you may criticize aspects of Obama's policies, "most" of you don't.
