The rockets just spent 3 days working on their game. And the biggest offensive weakness is passing. If Rudy doesn't demand atleast 20 assists from his team tongiht I'll be upset. And frankly if they get atleast 20 assists, I don't even care that much if they win. We know they're still working on kinks, so go out and work on stuff. Assists. Motion offense. Hell, show me 3 pipck-n-rolls and I'll be happy. I'm happy for franchise, but he and the rest of the team needs to pass the damn ball.
I'd be happier with 4 guys scoring 15 each than 2 guys scoring 35 each.

SO, whaddya say? What else should we EXPECT or hold the rockets accountable for doing tonight? I say 20 Assists, and 4 players in double digits. Fair?

    I'll be even more pragmatic...

I want 20 *attempted* assist (inside passing), cutting and movement.
Even if they are turnovers. Twenty assists means that you want those
assists to be completed. I think that's unrealistic.

Practice time is fine. But they need to try and excute their game plan during
a real game with real competition.

I don't care if we win either. As long as we show we are working on our
offensive game. But, ISO, ISO, ISO, and then sqeaking out a win
    is not showing anything new.

You might ask, "You want 20 turnovers?!?!?!"

I would say, "Yeah, what else is new? At least we'd be putting those turnovers
to good use. Learning a new offense"

I'll take your pragmatism to the highest level - I don't care how many assists (or TO's) the Rockets get as long as at least 3 different players touch the ball in a half court set.

    And that's not 3 as a target or 3 as an average - that's 3 as a minimum!

If this gets accomplished before 8 seconds on the clock...I can here Chick Hearns voice already...

    Gater,

I was reading your post and the theme music to "Hoosiers" started playing in my head.

Fire Rudy and hire Norman Dale. Trade Steve for Jimmy Chipwood. :p

    j/k

We might have the turnover king in Steve. 5 turnovers a game and less then 5 assists. Way to go Steve I like the way you care about the team winning and not your stats.

    :D :D :D :D :D

Steve is doing great. He plays high minutes and handles the ball a lot. He is going to have some turnovers. He hasn't had a lot of options the first three games other than Cat. EG finally broke out last game. Now he has Rice, KT is coming back, MT will be here Tuesday, and Ming is going to be better after rest and practice.

Get off his back...
