I'm thinking of buying a lexus. It's a 95. It has 158,000 miles on it. They want 3197 for it. I haven't checked the Carfax yet. But does this seem like a good buy? I already test drove it and it felt fine. They are offering a free 3 month warranty. Looks like it was well taken cared of.
Those Lexus's made between 1995-2000 are very reliable. You can literally drive it down to the ground with over 250K miles and never have a single problem.
for that much money, you could find a 97-99 with roughly the same mileage. And 158k miles is nothing for this car. My beater 97 ES has 258k and it still drives like new.
1995 and it has 158,000 for 3170?? I think it's little too much, I would pay only 2500 if it has no problems.
Well the KBB suggested retail value Is 4,365.00 If it was a private seller 2500 would be just about right.
I had that same car from 01 to 08. Great car. Watch out for the timing belt, check the transmission, mine started slipping really bad at 130k. Power antenna is crap, that will probably be broken. If you have any other questions just ask.
Good advice. I had to change mine at that point. Also, check if there is a leaky power steering hose. Only costs ~$100 to get a new HP power steering fluid hose.
Got a 1995 LS400 with 235K miles on it. Runs like new - these cars are built like a tank. Goodluck and I say go for it if you need something that just runs.
