(12) TCU at (8) Utah (BCS Rankings) Utah is undefeated, and TCU's lone loss was to OU. Should be a good game, TCU's Defense is amazing. TCU ranks third in the nation in scoring defense (10.8 points per game), and second in total defense (214.5 ypg). Its run defense, which leads the nation with 38.9 yards allowed per game, will be tested by a Utah team that has rushed for 520 yards over its last two games. Game is on at 7pm on CBS Sports. I'm gonna watch this then the Rockets on TNT. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/preview?gameId=283110254
TCU's DE Jerry Hughes went to my High School, and graduated the same year as me. It's been pretty sweet to watch him tear up college football this year. 14 sacks (#1 in the nation), 5 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions
Monster game for TCU......BCS bid is on the line for both teams. This is the kind of game that can propel TCU to the upper echelon of college football programs or drop them back into the good-but-not-big-time football program status. Interesting points: This is the first time TCU has played a game in which both teams have a combined ranking this high since Nov. 14, 1959, when the No. 18 Frogs won 14-9 at No. 2 Texas. TCU is 1-4 against Utah all time with their only win coming in the first MWC meeting between the teams, a 23-20 overtime decision in Fort Worth in 2005. It snapped Utah's 18-game winning streak, second-longest in the nation at the time. TCU > Utah
God I hope neither team gets a BCS game. Unless its an ACC matchup its gonna be a slaughter fest. Please do not bring up Boise/OU or some other crap. Anyways, does Utah have a legit shot managing TCU's rush? They did better against Oregon State's rush than USC could manage. I didn't catch the OU/TCU game, did TCU look decent against them?
Until the 2nd half. TCU held them to minimal amount of rushing yards IIRC. OU ended up winning by like 20pts though, pulling away late.
Why shouldn't a Mountain West team get a bid this year? The Big East, ACC and Big 10 get auto bids and they straight suck.
God. You are right really. I could see TCU winning the ACC or Big East. Man I love CFB. Man I hate the CFB championship system.
There are 10 BCS teams. You'll have two from SEC and B12. Then one from the PAC10, B10, BigEast, and ACC. That still leaves two teams, and you can't take them from the SEC or B12. Who would you pick?
Quite the defensive struggle. The place kicker ended TCU's season there. Missed 2 close FG's. I knew it was going to end that way after the 2nd missed FG.
Sorry for the Horn Frogs-who looked the better team, but good for Texas. Reduces the chances OU might leap Texas in the BCS/Big 12 championship game with a 3 way tie with Tech if those teams all win out.
What a horrible loss for us Horned Frog fans. To outgain Utah by 100+ yards, to miss 2 chip FGs, to lead the entire 59 1/2 minutes, to see the BCS spot right there for the taking and....... Ughhhhhhh, I want to throw up.
Yep, I was so upset I stopped watching the Rockets game after wards (had it dvr'ed to catch up with. :|
