We can "safely" assume that the race for the final Western Conference playoffs spot will be gutted out by two teams - Houston and Phoenix. So lets take a look at what the last 3 weeks of this interesting 2002/2003 NBA season has for us in terms of games left and possible prognosis of how it will (should) all end. Houston Rockets remaining games. (10 games in all - 5 Home, 5 Away) Mar 29 Sat Denver 7:30 pm 31 Mon @ New Jersey 6:30 pm Apr 2 Wed @ Milwaukee 7:00 pm 4 Fri @ Philadelphia 6:00 pm 6 Sun Orlando 7:30 pm 8 Tue Portland 7:30 pm 9 Wed @ Utah 8:00 pm 12 Sat Seattle 7:30 pm 15 Tue Memphis 7:30 pm 16 Wed @ Denver 8:00 pm *= All times local Phoenix Suns remaining games - 11 games in all (5 Home - 6 Away) Mar 28 Fri @ Detroit ESPN 30 Sun @ Indiana Apr 1 Tue Denver 5 Sat Minnesota 6 Sun @ L.A. Lakers 8 Tue @ Denver 9 Wed Dallas 11 Fri Golden State ESPN 13 Sun San Antonio 15 Tue @ Portland 16 Wed @ Seattle
Prognosis Houston If all stays true to form i.e. we win the games we are supposed to and lose the ones we are supposed to, we should end up going 6 and 4 the rest of the way (loosing on the road to NJ, Philly, Milwaukee and Utah). That will give us a record of 43-39 at season's end. Phoenix Now if the do likewise, they SHOULD finish the season strong with a 4-6 record beating only Denver (Home & Away), Minesota and Golden State at home. The Indiana game is an ify but I expect Indiana to beat them just like the beat us earlier in the season. This strong finish will put Phoenix overall record at an impressive 42-40 record. ============================================ Now if only both teams can stay true to form, we will make the playoffs with one game to spare (maybe we can start Jason Collier, Boki and Tito in the last game). Go Rox. If you are going to mess up my forecast do so on the possitive side.
