This is not meant to demean the team. This is not meant to be the super pessimist. But this is what "experts" are saying about the Rox.

This team is not major playoff contender. Not yet at least. Yes its pretty to be 9-4. But the Rox have Zero quality wins. Only one win against a club that has a .500 record, and that was while Dallas was off to a horrible start at 0-4.

This team needs McGrady to be great. It doesnt NEED, to have Yao be great, only consistantly good. a 27 ppg TMac and a 20ppg Yao is far superior to a 27 ppg Yao and 20 ppg Tmac. For as absurd as that sounds its true. Ive pointed out before that JVG is waaaaaaaaaay to happy with Tmac being the distributor, and not the lead guy, OR AT LEAST a 50/50 guy with Yao. JVG needs to find a way to incorporate Tmac into the scoring load that isnt High post pick and roll - dish to the open man every time. This is what everyone means when the say the game is meant for the little man. Triple teams Yao in the middle and clog the lane. Barkley was right when he said the Rockets are a minimal playoff team. Considering we have two of the best position players in the league, thats absurd also.

I mean how long into the season can the Rox go before they actually beat a team that had a winning record coming into the game? One month and counting, and its not looking good so far against the Suns.

    Zero good wins.

starting to agree with this.... mcgrady needs to find his touch in the worst way if we're gonna reach the next level.

Did I say that? Are the Rox a playoff team...yes.

Are they a high seed....probably not.

Do they need TMac back in charge of the scoring load....definately

These rox, as is, are one offensive mentality, and a player away from doing any damage in the playoffs. Its time to get something...anything out of Bonzi Wells. And its time for JVG to find a leadership role out of Tmac that makes him at least an equal to Yao on the offensive scoring side.

Im not claiming doom and gloom. This teams still has a chance, they just need to start fixing things, and Tmac needs to figure some things out...mostly his shooting touch, and his willingness to go to the lane a bit more.

    I completely agree.

Tmac needs to stop trying to be Magic Johnson and get back to what he does best. SCORE! We will be a playoff team playing like we do, but we dont scare anybody if Tmac is averaging less then 20 ppg.

I don't think he has lost a step at all. He is just a lazy sob and doesn't care. Talent wise he might be better then Kobe and Lebron, but just doesn't have that killer instinct or drive.

JVG needs to get his head out of his ass and start playing Bonzi. We are a playoff team, but I am tired of watching us score in the 80's and lose 20 point leads like there is no tomorrow. Bringing Bonzi off the bench would definitely be a big boost in our scoring.

Altson needs to be bench for Vspan now! He plays no D and is not a good shooter. I don't see how Vspan can be any worse then Altson. JVG needs to make this decision now.

Nothing more could be asked of Yao, Battier, Hayes, Luther or Mutombo.

Until all of those things happen we will be a middle of the bunch playoff team. We are capable of beating the crappy teams, but have major problems against the top-tier teams. And we might as well forfiet the road games against Suns, Spers and Mavs.

Rafer Alston should stick to shooting 3s. He is shooting those 3s better than shooting 2 points.

I don't care about that, what a meaningless stat.....they will get their share....

Chemistry is developing, the Rockets are going to win a lot of games this year.

Not the way TMac is playing. He is stupid to think his 7 assists a game are gonna get us someere. You are ****in stupid McGrady. BE a leader and stop being a dang pansy.

Rafer Alston sucks too. That guy has been shooting relentlessy for many games. I know his clutch shooting and confidence won down the stretch, but his shooting is also very costly. HE is not making any assists either. I never thought we were going anywhere with this guy.

You guys might say, hey, here are the bandwagoners again winin when we win, dancin when we lose. THese problems are seirous problems everygame, but a close win always covers it up. I have been really waiting for us to get killed like this so our issues, like Tmac and Alston, can take the front stage. Even if we win tonight the problem is always going to be there.

Even I said all along that almost all their wins are against crappy teams, they actually played well in this game.

Rafer Alston is becoming an acceptable PG. Yes, he still shoots point blank shots worse than any point guards in the league, but he now becomes a threat outside the 3 point line. I can take it even though he still offers little in other areas.

Shane Battier played some great help defense, Head was just awesome. Hayes was great doing his dirty works. Novak also did his job.

This loss is on T-Mac. There is no question about it. This guy's game is free falling. Other than offering some assists, he was almost useless in terms of scoring and he jacked up a lot of shots.

Rox has no chance at championship if T-Mac continue playing like this. I think in a year or two, people will start to talk about trading.

McGrady needs to get his shooting touch back and SCORE not pass the damn ball!!!!!

His shot is flat and his release is off, it not like he wasnt open tonight..he had plenty of opportunities. A couple of years ago, he could have made at least half of those.

Yao is playing well but the only way were getting far in the playoffs is if T-Mac starts playing like himself and quits talking about this "playmaker" bull**** .
