I get why you'd rather do it, but NO won't. 30 yr old (when the season starts) Harden with a big cap number isn't going to get you younger, cheaper, insanely talented Zion alone, never mind Zion + Jrue.

I mean David Griffin might disagree. Harden + AD is our goal here in Houston. NOP would have that off the bat. Frankly, they'd be positioned to be the #2 team in the West with the right periphery moves. Granted, Griffin will indeed prefer to keep Holiday.
Why does this idea keep getting peddled? What has AD done in his career to be called better than Harden?
If he had Harden’s durability, a big if, he’s a better player to build around for winning championships. A super skilled big man with defensive versatility, incredible physical tools, and elite scoring ability who you can plug in to any offensive/defensive system. And he’s four years younger. Like any great player, he needs an organization that knows what it’s doing and who can build a competitive team around him.
I mean sure he MIGHT. And Scarlett Johansson MIGHT show up at my door tomorrow having decided she cannot live another day without pleasing me sexually. Or are we sticking to things that are remotely reasonable?
