It's not a back and forth when there was a large chunk of time when it was peaceful.

I agree old ppl can be resentful.

    TLDR :
"TOO MUCH" Freedom of speech and democracy is bad. It makes people spoiled and disrespectful.

You better listen to papa CCP to show you what respect and discipline mean.

The people of China are bent out of shape about someone making a comment about standing with people who are having their human rights taken away from them??

    What a freakin joke!!!

Hey you freakin hypocrites, why don't you make a public comment about how upset you are by not being able to watch the Rockets (or other NBA teams) now that the games won't be televised. You no why you won't?

BECAUSE THIS SAME GOVERNMENT (THAT YOU'RE DEFENDING) WILL SHOW YOU HOW THEY'LL TAKE YOUR HUMAN RIGHTS AWAY BY THROWING YOU IN JAIL!!!

If the NBA moved the All-Star game out of Charlotte (which they recently did in '17) for North Carolina's House Bill 2 (which limited anti-discrimination protections in the state for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the state) they certainly are NOT going to shut down Morey's comment to a country who has HISTORICALLY not given a damn about human rights (in Hong Kong, the mainland of China or anywhere else for that matter).

????? He does have business interest in China. I don't understand your argument. His open letter's circumvention on what the protest is about is the reason to believe that he is doing it for his business interest.

If you grow up with freedom, you learn to use it wisely. If you had grown up with it, you'd learn your own boundaries too. Your problem is that you have no idea how to imagine freedom. Y'all have to take it from your oppressors to find out.

    Noone was fired.
It was shown in chinese tv and cinemas and noone thought anything wrong about it, until a chinese american shared it on facebook months later.
The owner said that he didn't think it was anything racist about it either.

Watched the video because I wanted to hear his perspective.

That being said, he is wrong, freedom of speech isn't a "card" to be played, its a constitutional right. The fact that a single tweet caused a national government to sensor its people from viewership of a foreign sports league tells me all I need to know.

You are equating all American and Chinese people as children while propping up governments of both countries as adults. Who do you think make up governments? People. Do people inherit magical powers or godly wisdom when they assume gubernatorial positions?

China's one party rule allows for swift policy execution, but very slow changes in mindset because of the lack of contrasting ideas. This is why the one child policy took so long to overturn, because China hates admitting they were wrong. And now China will have to deal with the repercussions of a swelling aging population.
