I wouldnt mind seeing a game of... pg - tony parker, jason terry, andre miller sg - joe johnson, manu ginobli, vince carter sf - kobe bryant, paul pierce, richard jefferson pf - dirk nowiztki, kevin garnett, carlos boozer c - tim duncan, elton brand, amare stoudmire vs. Golden State Warriors Who would win? The youngest player on the team would be Tony Parker which would be 34 by the time the playoffs started. Average age for the team would probably be around 37-38 years old Overall I really can't decide who I think would win this game.
so 3 of the top 6 players on the spurs that have are pace to win like 68 games and have the best win differential in the history of the league at the moment. plus dirk and the other guys have zero chance? i beg to differ.
Warriors would fast break these old fart to death. Just look at Lebron. They had to slow the game down to even win 2 games because the Warriors never stop moving. They make 5 to 7 pass in 15 seconds, so you 're wasting a lot of energy chasing them. Not good when you're old
perhaps. but they would not have to play as many minutes because they have backups that would need to play 15-20 minutes a game also. plus they could all focus more on defense because of less need to score. regardless it would be funny as hell to watch.
The better question is can the USA National Team (sans all GSW players) beat GSW. I say no way. GSW would win the Gold Medal, in 7-game series format, easier than they will the 2016 Title. The point is: you can't throw together stars and beat a well-oiled machine. Fantasy teams like in the OP are not worth imagining.
Exactly. Look at Lakers with Gasol, Dwight, Kobe, Nash...ummmm. And look at Rockets. On paper, easy 50 plus win, but these guys just don't work together as a team. This isn't fantasy basketball. It took the Heat more than 50 games to figure it out with Bosh, Wade, and James. And they still didn't win it the first year.
Not a chance. Firstly, Leonard is by far better then anybody else on the spurs, he's having a MVP caliber season, even then Aldridge is the 2nd best player, so Duncan, Parker and Manu are the 3rd-5th best players that benefit greatly from being in a well oiled Pops system. They would be eaten alive playing next to Kobe, Dirk and Johnson on a newly formed team. Seriously that whole team you listed would be the worst defensive team in history. I legit think they would have a hard time against the 76'ers.
I'll take team US with coach Pop over Golden State though. 1 - Lebron 2 - Butler 3 - Kawhi 4 - Durant / PG 5 - AD This might be a better small ball lineup than GS. Went for the Super versatile defensive Team. Basically switch everything.
who is the coach on the vet team and who is the coach on the warriors. If you tell me the vet team was coached by Phil Jackson, I'd say warriors. If you tell me the vet team was coached by PoP i'd say SA.
Maybe if you put Kobe on the Warriors and made him play over Klay Thompson, then we would have an argument...
Do you realie you took out the best Spurs players (Leonard and Aldrige), and put Kobbe in? By halftime Warriors are up 25, and Kobe is 3 for 33 from the field, Nowitzki is frustrated, and Joe Johnson is laughing that he got selected as a starter for this squad.
