Golden State says hey, let's trade Klay Thompson for Demarcus Cousins. God lord at that team then. Curry Iggy Draymond KD Boogie Nobody wins, and they could do this. Very easily.
Golden State says 'no' in that deal. Boogie doesn't fit the style of play, and especially not the culture.
Yeah, GS definitely says no... even though that second rounder they drafted Mccaw looks like a stud in the making.
The best center fit for GS, would be guys like Marc Gasol, Joakim Noah Al Horford basically great passing Big men, who play hard, set screens, play defense.
Cousins is a year younger and obviously WAY better then Klay....why would the kings do anything other then hang up and laugh?
Your kidding right about Cousins. The guy is lazy, angry and a team killer. Sac would take anyone that they can put as their forefront player over Cousins any day. The only reason why they still have him is because they know they can't get jack otherwise. The age of the true center is done as the focal point of an offense. A team doesn't need a DOMINANT bigman anymore to win games, only someone that can play defense, rebound and furthermore PASS THE BALL.
Have you seem the ownership, coaching, and rosters he has had around him.......? You think having Klay instead and winning 9 games is better?
I wouldn't trade Klay for Cousins... But consider this: Klay doesn't provide much other than his elite shooting and scoring. Yes, he's a passable defender, but I wouldn't consider him a 'stopper'. When you consider that with KD on board, Klay is about to go from 18-19 FGA/36min to probably around 12-13 FGA/36min... Well how much is a guy like that worth? An elite shooter who's reduced to 4th option status? In his new role, is he THAT much more valuable than a JJ Redick or Kyle Korver? I'd trade him. Making sure that you replace him with a strong shooting wing, of course.
Golden State would be disrupted majorly with Cousins, their center needs to be a good blocking lineman. Sacramento couldn't build something around Klay Thompson, he isn't a cornerstone piece. So I say DO IT!
You think too literally. Klay was nothing but straight up wet as **** in these playoffs. It's not about downside possibility, but upside. Any given game, Klay can literally take over. That's something JJ or Korver don't have. Klay's Game 6 against the Thunder arguably won them Durant, don't forget that. You don't trade due to possible limitations, you think about upside. Always and forever. That's like costing pennies for dollars. Never, never ever.
How many given games will they need Klay to take over when you have Steph AND Durant? The idea behind trading him isn't about his potential limitations, it's that he'd more valuable to other teams, and could possibly yield a return that would be net positive for the Warriors. I would absolutely consider trading him for a package like Avery Bradley and Brooklyn's 2017 1st rounder.
If he was a different type of person I would agree, but he isn't. If he was just mainly playing defense and rebounding and being a general team player then he would be great. The Warriors have a significant issue with interior defense and rebounding. I think Boogie would fall in line more up in Cleveland with Lebron. I saw they inquired about him.
There is a possibility they could be better with Cousins instead of Thompson. Teams playing them would probably cry trying to guard Cousins, Curry, and Durant.
Hahaha is that still one of his triggers? I haven't been following his posts much these days, he really has become borderline unhinged since the Lin thread.
That's not a bad idea, but they'd have no real SG. Klay is a legit 2, Iggy is not. Iggy literally played 1% of his minutes at the SG position the last 2 years. Also, their offense need centers willing to set 80 picks per game and Boogie won't do that. They'd have to change their offense completely which is fine, but they'd still be really weak at the 2. Also, I'm not sure Kerr knows any offense other than the triangle and that offense would not work with Boogie.
