    Two things:

    1) Kevin McHale is pissed.
    2) Who the hell brought the purple flower phone case?

Not that there's anything wrong with purple flower phone cases.

You could see him about ready to come out of his skin. It's like he was just focusing on not dropping the f bomb and subsequently speaking as quickly as possible. After the 2nd 3 second lull in the questions he was out!

A lot of the issues with this team have nothing to do with McHale. The team lacks certain pieces to run the offense.

Apparentlly McHale thought we could have won the game, just as we did. That's why he's so pissed off.
Hopefully he learned the reason we lost and won't make the same mistake.

I honestly don't think we could've won this one. They bring plenty of energy plus those rebounding bigs kill us.

Why was he talking about the beginning of the 3rd? Yeah players didn't run back but the offense was fine. How about the end of the 3rd/beginning of the 4th when there was no offense and defense and Mchale did **** all?

I hope the Rockets respond well to this loss. I don't think McHale is going to be showing them a video of only the good things they did in this game.

I don't disagree with that. This team is still a work in progress.

However, SOME coaches will say things like...

"It's on us to have them more ready" or "We, the coaches need to find ways to better utilize our guys" or "We, the coaches need to keep working with the players in order to improve our execution".

It feels a bit too much like McHale and Co. are blaming the team. Even if it IS the team's fault, who's the ones running the practices, creating the game plans and assigning minutes?

Compare that with Harden, Lin and others on the team when they do interviews. They often try to take personal responsibility.

Harden talks about trying to do too much. Lin often talks about him needing to either shoot better or get his team mates more involved. Etc, etc.

I find the lack of personal responsibility a bit disturbing to be honest.

The scoring might have been fine, but we have no idea if the guys were doing what McHale instructed. He specifically stated guys were playing in crowds (possibly due to horrible spacing or driving into the defense) and trying to take on the load themselves, which snowballed. I am under no delusion that Harden is the only guilty party on that front. Quite a few guys were going for home run plays in the second half. The success rate just diminished as the game wore on.

McHale should be mad at himself, the guy has 0 faith in Lin if he slips for one second, he's getting benched. Meanwhile Harden has the ball in his hands the majority of the time and coughs the ball up down the stretch, I know Harden makes up for it with his ability to get the line and score, but you have to hold all of your players accountable for their actions..
