Why didn't he take the deal? Seems like a pretty damn good one.

Maybe because the only person on this planet less trustworthy than Assange is Trump. Game recognize game.

    Two grains of salt:

    1. The proceedings are to determine if Assange will be extradited to the US. Probably this evidence was submitted to the court to argue that he should not be extradited because either he can't get a fair trial with a president with a vendetta against him, or else he could cut a deal with that president to get a pardon, or a "revised recommendation" from the prosecution, lol. Either way, this info is very self-interested.

    2. This alleged offer came through Rep Rohrabacher, not from Trump himself. Rohrabacher might have been himself overzealous in promising. And he may have truly believed that Russia was in fact innocent of the accusations (he never struck me as an intelligent man), making the offer much less sinister. Either way, hard to know if Trump himself came up with or even participated in this offer.

I think folks should be careful about assuming it must be true. Even if it does sound like something Trump would do.

By 'pardon' he was simply implying 'excuse me' for an imagined social miscue -- there is literally nothing to see here.

    This.

By pardon he means what one says when they release a noxious fart on an elevator or on an airplane. More of a social nicety.

The go-to excuse every time. Deny, deflect, blame. DNC didn't even have anything to do with this, but let's just toss that in...because, why not.

Is anyone with a shred of intellect or decency really surprised at this point?

Most corrupt administration ever. I have zero respect for anyone who supports this abomination.

Yeah really .... It's highly likely Asange spends the rest of his life behind bars .... if that's all I had to do to get out of that life sentence , I'd have done it in a heartbeat.

    This is fishy.

All the GOP senators who voted to acquit should be tried as traitors....

This is what happens when you fail to do your constitutional duty.

On 2, it doesn't matter. Even there is video proof of Trump directing Rohrabacher, the excuse is the same - so what. Russia didn't do it. GOP - it's wrong, but it's okay. Move on.

Seriously, why do we need these instances to know that it all does not matter. Trump is above the law and he knows it, the GOP knows it and his supporters are okay with it.
