    Sorry just want to rant!

My wife just called me from Baybrook Mall. She was in the mall for less than 30 minutes. She goes back to our truck to find the tailgate gone.

    I can't stand thieves.

After cooling down a bit, I guess it's better than the whole truck. Mall security wasn't too helpful. They are no cameras that look over the parking lot.

Just makes me a bit pissed because my wife was with my little girl. I'm just glad they are OK but I HATE THIEVES.

Just took the tailgate in the middle of the day from a public parking lot? And no one saw anything? That sucks, my friend.

That's why I keep mine locked.

Sucks man. 10 years ago we had a rear light fixture taken off our vehicle, and 3 years ago....Center cap of the Escalade (stock chrome) rims.

You can't keep hubcaps on a Stingray in Houston for more than a week.

Saw a report on how easy it is to do this (steal a tailgate) back about 10 years ago, maybe... and I was all: "who would want just the tailgate?". Now I know. Sad stuff. Can't do too much, though. I bet if you go back and look, there are cameras around.

Some people say "it's my privacy!" and cry foul about them, but they're useful in instances like this.

:( Good luck recovering your tailgate or just replacing it, sir.

Very odd but just remember it could always be worse. Sorry to hear about that, holidays always result in a rise in thefts.

Yeah middle of the day and not one person saw it happen. I just called the dealer and it's about $1300 from them. I guess this gives me a chance to go junk yard hopping.

I found it weird that people just want a tailgate. A friend of mine just told me that he has had his mirrors stolen of his Ford half-ton.

Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better knowing my wife and little one are OK and that's all they got me for.

Had a friend who had a car with turn signals on the side mirrors in college. Somebody in broad daylight removed the turn signal portions. People will steal anything.

You just found out it costs $1,300 to replace and you still think it's weird someone would steal it from you?

You can always pay it forward and steal a tailgate off some other unsuspecting victim.

Sorry to hear man. Always lock it up.
A couple of weeks ago my neighbor had his tailgate stolen off his F150 Platinum edition. Don’t they have a camera and that step ladder?
