    Great post Nook. Thank you

    Atkinson or bust for me.
He's the cream of the crop of everyone available out there.
He will likely be the one who does the choosing and not the other way around.

Great list; thanks for compiling this. Of the former head coaches, really only Atkinson, JVG, and Lue excite me as higher upside picks. A lot of the assistants are intriguing.

I do think that someone to manage the egos of Harden and Westbrook is important. That makes me worry a bit about Atkinson or the younger assistants.

But those guys don't have the French appeal to girls. But seriously, I am very skeptical about Parker being a coach. I can't pinpoint on why. He somehow reminds me of Jason Kidd the head coach.

    In order and it’s close...

    Ettore messina
    Sam Cassell
    Stephen Silas

And I really want Alvin Gentry as lead assistant with Rex Kalamian I read somewhere he’s close with James and Russ.

Could Chris Finch be the next Nick Nurse?

It’s all about having the whole staff . No one coach is gonna bring everything the team needs .

didn’t see becky hammon listed , Tilman might be too sexist :).

Would love to have a couple of these guys . Would someone who’s been out of the coaching game be willing to take a backseat to get their feet wet again ? Assistant lateral move ? (Maybe if Tilman paid )

JVG and Mark Jackson work well together in the booth , but they are both known as defensive guys so although the pairing would deal ESPN a big blow Id have to pass .

Silas with a JVG or Jackson assistant and Gentry is about the best we can hope for . Then you’ve got John Lucas still

Donovan is an automatic no from me. Dude is a massive downgrade from MDA.

Mark Jackson is another automatic no since I read the story about how he and his wife took Steph to their church for a laying-on-of-hands to help cure his gimpy ankle. Steph said after they did it, the entire congregation looked at him expectantly and he realized they were waiting for him to start hopping around on his newly cured ankle.

I also remember hearing that he's duplicitous with his players, talking about some behind their backs to others and not following through with promises. Could be just rumors, though. Regardless, HARD pass on Mark Jackson.

I wouldn't mind seeing Darren Erman on board as defensive coach.

    I've always always wanted Messina.

My top pick would be him, Atkinson, or even Cassell.

I'm open to giving most of the new guys a shot at it. I like JVG but I feel like he won't get much done here.

Great post, @Nook. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Becky Hammon. Was surprised to see she was absent from your list.

How do you change the whole culture of a organization from losing to winning without being a great leader? That doesn't make sense

@Nook why do you do this to yourself?

We are going to end up with DaDakota at a very attractive price.
