Would love that, but I don't see it. They'll be playing in Dodger Stadium and Petco in San Diego...both aren't really having issues with air quality. They swapped the Mariners-Padres game to Petco because the air was bad in Seattle.

They haven't announced what teams will play where, but I'm hoping the Astros get San Diego. For one, they've played there this year while Oakland hasn't (Oakland plays in LA starting today). It would also mean that if the Astros continue on to the ALCS, they will stay put while the winner of the other pod would have to come to them.

    That is absurd. Mercy.

Why not just reduce the league to two teams (Dodgers/Yankees) and let them play 162 vs each other. Highest rating ever, right? What everybody wants, right? Best for baseball, right?

    A bunch of F#cking cr@p.

Almost impossible: MLB has only had three players named Aurelio, and they all died the same way

The sport produces amazing moments and improbable occurrences. And sometimes it produces things that are nearly impossible to believe, like this: There have only been three players in MLB history with the first name Aurelio, and all three died in car accidents.

    This is truly bizarre.

Which Top Team Could Get Upset in October?
Tom Verducci: Whoever Faces the Indians
    Stephanie Apstein: Oakland A's
    Emma Baccellieri: Oakland A's
    Connor Grossman: Chicago Cubs
    Matt Martell: Oakland A's
    Michael Shapiro: Atlanta Braves

Unexpected love? No way! But I am a bit surprised at the lack of confidence in the A's by this staff.

If I was in Houston I'd rather spend money on flood control. But that's just me.

Speaking of spending money, anyone consider the cost of all those card board cut outs?

I hear their $300 a piece. I will go with that for my point.

    $300 x 5000/stadium (wild guess) = $1,500,000

$1.5M x 29 teams = $43.5M (Toronto has none in their home stadium)

    ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ---- ----- ----- -----

I can think of better ways to spend 40+ million dollars.

Yep, private citizens should send their money to better causes. But it's their right...

The money goes to charities...at least in Houston, but I think in other cities as well. It seems a fun way for people to donate.

$100 in Houston. All proceeds go to provide Hurricane Laura relief.

Dodgers raised over 1.5 million for charity.

    How horrible

$40M would go a long way for COVID research.

I am not sure what your problem is with teams raising money for charitable causes. Helping people with whatever problems they are experiencing is important as well.

I dont. I just think COVID research is a more fitting and urgent cause, especially considering why there are cut outs and not fans in the stands to begin with.

Sabathia calls Correa a 'clown' for calling out Astros' critics

"F--- them dudes, man," Sabathia said. He then threw a touch of shade at the Twins' postseason inadequacy: "Y'all beat a team that's lost 18 straight f------ playoff games."

That team and its players, current and former, just keep giving me more reasons to hate them.
