Well, there's a certain Dr. that predicted Clowney wouldn't make it through this year.

I wish we could've gotten more for Clowney, but I have a feeling any team that signs him to the contract he probably wants is going to regret it.

    Not well I will bet.

I'm guessing with his core injuries along with hip and knee injuries (He's had his knee drained regularly) that he wont make it through the season.

What I do know for sure is that the Texans dodged a bullet and he's the Seahawks problem now.

    And I bet you're wrong.

No. You do not know that. I would bet most Texans fans (and players and other personnel) would rather have Clowney on the team right now. They have missed him, even moreso after Watt's injury.

If they dodged a bullet with Clowney because of injuries then they surely took that bullet head on with JJ

3 sacks and 8 TFL for 15 mil. Hard pass

They learned from JJ to not make the same mistake with Clownery.

Most double teamed defender (even more than Donald) in the league - I'm sure Whitney would love that right now, They're already paying half of that 15 million for 0 sacks and 0 TFLs (since he is not on the team). Yes. I'll take 8 mil for all that. If you want to get even more technical, they're paying 5.5 mill for Mingo and Martin right now. So for 2.5 million you could have gotten that production.

Unless the Texans allocated Clowney's 2019 salary to players they wouldn't have been able to before the trade, bringing up his 2019 salary seems like a losing argument. Who cares how much he's paid this year if his salary on the Texans wouldn't have affected any other personnel decisions?

How many QB sacks/hits/ hurries does Martin have?

Conley is looking pretty promoting at a position of need.

Clownery has been avg at best this season and I'm a guy who wanted the Clownery pick and wanted him to play here on the tag this year.

Have you watched any of his games besides the San Francisco game?

Could’ve used that pick 6 he had in week 4 to beat the Panthers. We’d be 8-3.

Actually yes I have. The games he is not filing up the stat sheet, he is getting a lot of double team attention. No one is double teaming Jacob Martin. He has 2 QB hits and 1 was a sack.

Conley was a good pickup but he was on the verge of getting cut by the Raiders before the trade. Separate transactions

Paying half his salary to play well for Seattle. So stupid

Very well. He is an elite run defender and gets doubled in pass rushing downs. Has two touchdowns. 89.4 PFF grade

Wow and I just looked up his stats and he’s got 25 tackles and 3 whole sacks.

For what we got in return, i can't see how one can argue that it was a solid trade, much less a good one.

See, the problem is you think other NFL teams don't pay attention to other teams players. Elite Run defenders to not get Elite pass rusher money, Nor do they get #1 or #2 draft picks from other team in trades. Teams don't Clowney as an elite pass rusher. That was the problem.

We could definitely use his elite run defense now, though. This defense can't even stop a runny nose.

What good is he if he is hurt?

The run defense had 2 bad games. Let’s see what they do with the Pats.

This is like measuring an NBA player with PER or a baseball player with batting average. Clowney has huge impact even if it doesn't show up in casual fan stats
