Welp, that's terrible news for the Texans, but I guess being a laughing stock won't be anything new.

How many teams would reward coaches for 4 win seasons by giving them extensions and the ability to name a lackey at GM? Just the Texans.

For fans of the other 3 AFC South teams and BOB fanboys, sure.

"Hey guys, don't worry, I got rid of the goat I previously let run the team.

Oh btw, I replaced the goat with a fish.

    Go Texans!"

What if the house needs to be cleaned out?

Let the football guys make the football decisions. We won't go anywhere until McNairs learn/follow this.

McNair declined to disclose candidates. Interviews begin early next week. Four candidates are known: Buffalo vice president of player personnel Brian Gaine, New England vice president of player personnel Nick Caserio, Texans vice president of football operations/assistant general manager Jimmy Raye III and Green Bay director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst.

"We're not going to have somebody come in and clean house and start firing everybody. After he's worked with them for a while, if he thinks they're not capable of doing the kind of job we expect, he can replace them."

Translation: We're hiring a BOB lackey who will just rubber stamp anything he wants. Brian Hoyer is packing his stuff as we speak and looking for a place in Houston.

Not sure what Bill has done to have a say in player personal. The guy is every bit as bad as rick at his job.

The Texans love rewarding failure and BOB is amazing when it comes to failure.

Yeah... Smith got a dozen years and now it looks like BOB gets his run. That is the Texans though. Mediocre franchise from day 1 until now.

Now they are trying to be a bad franchise instead of a mediocre one in order to mix things up.

I think having Watson is going to help a lot and if he thinks he can get guys to help Watson out, that would be great. He did talk about how crappy our depth was on this team.

I like the idea that ownership is at least being clear about the responsibilities of people in the organization. This is the first time I've ever heard McNair describe who is responsible for what. Hard to hold people accountable for doing their job when their job descriptions seem so nebulous.

Yep exactly. Sounds like the new GM will have full power. Finally clarity.
