Yeah this is close to home. Officially they have not ruled out terrorist motives. However The rumors I have heard so far seem to suggest that is might just be a nutcase, and not an Ideology motivated nutcase. It appears that he has had some run in with the police (both with attempt rape and also gun related). This is not official at all, but it is the theories by some reporters who were at the scene the whole day (and talked about it on dutch Radio). We will see what actually happened when he is caught.

Jihadist groups, including those aligned with the Islamic State (IS) group, have long operated in the region. This has not been reported in the Dutch media at all. So I doubt this is true. He was involved/suspected in another shooting, attempted rape and theft. But we will find out soon what his motives were. Today there will be no more information released.

The left is quiet because they want to still keep focus on the white guy who killed Muslims because they don't get this "seee I told youuuu" chance nearly as often as they wish.
Not sure this is yet a terrorist attack. What I read was that he shot at a relative of his and those who tried to help her. Nevertheless, all terrorism should be condemned and all extremists need to be seen as an enemy of the public good. ISIS is an enemy of not just the west but of Muslims as well. And it's a shame that people on here refuse to acknowledge extremists such as White Supremacists as a problem.
Yeah I have no idea. If the BBC info is correct why did the Dutch media not report on it. On the Other hand the anti muslim party PVV asked for a debate on this saying they wanted the Dutch people to know the truth. Maybe that is based on the BBC info/report. I also heard reports that were similar to what sweet lou posted. I hope that is the case a personal killing will have less of an effect on Dutch life. But so far we are responding to reports/rumours. So nobody knows what his motives are.
