It really does seem like VSpan came too early and wasn't mentally ready. And that an extra year or two to grow in the Euroleague might've helped in this regards.

Not lamenting on the past, but may be something the Rockets need to think about for future Euro picks.

Van Gundy was never going to play him. Vspan had a pretty good pre-season and a breakout game and then JVG never played him again until late in the season even Rafer was sucking up the court. He tried to make Vspan a SG only. And then He proceeded to throw Vspan under the bus after Vspan went man to man and explained that he was a creator on his team. Van Dummy twisted his words trying to make it seem like he was claiming to be as good as Tmac. That's not what he was saying. He only thought if he talked to JVG and explained he thought he could contribute better as a creator and not just a spot up shooter. Van Gundy didn't want hm and wasn't going to play him even though the fans wanted him to play.

Maybe the reason any Greek player did not make it in the NBA, is that they are home sick?! Sure Span was.

I watched the Greece-Puerto Rico game and VSpan flat out killed Barea+Arroyo. He had 27p 5r in less than 30 minutes.

Spanoulis has turned into the Lebron James of Greece:

Maybe he and Jeff Van Gundy can now find some common ground as fellow baldies.

(5 years already, damn.) Spanoulis also said that he was "lied" to by Rockets management to get him to sign. So all kinds of twisting of words and egos there.

It was all about the "win now" then. Van Gundy lived and died by that. If you werent "winning now" then you didnt figure into anything. It was an interesting scenario of - play Rafer who takes away by bricking, or Spanoulis who takes away by flicking the ball in the stands. Both were so woefully deficient in one area.

Though he did have potential to be a Greek Kyle Lowry type, with WORSE than Jeremy Lin level turnovers rate. But all this has been oft-discussed already. We didnt come here to talk, we came to see the Spanoulis STRUT

Another professional basketball player with a low opinion of the Rockets front office and management.

No, no. Another former PG. That means he's coming back.

He was terrible in the NBA. I think most would agree that he's better in Europe.

He just showed the world that he is on NBA washout Trajon Langdon's level.

Now when he's sitting around dodging Molotov cocktails in Greece where half the country is eating boiled shoe leather, he can be secure in the knowledge that he has surpassed Tyus Edney's basketball legacy.

BTW, everybody who's anybody knows that Joey Dorsey and Acie Law carried Olympiakos this season.

Spanoulis shooting a rare 40% from 3 point land in the two finals games instead of his normal 20% was what got him this trophy. Complete robbery.
