    Wait, Woj found out about the Rockets 4 1st for Butler from the Sixers!?!?

    On another note, I have to wonder if the Sixers would be comfortable with Butler "meshing" with Simmons/Embiid seeing is how Butler meshed with KAT/Wiggins. It might work, but might not. And that concern could temper the 76ers offers for Butler. They might want to buy into that much risk. Especially since they are young and have cap space to pivot.

    Sixers leaking the trade info to spite Morey for not leaving the Rockets:eek:


    Also, you would have to think Philly hypothetically deals Fultz at that point too because if he really was struggling mentally last year, Butler sure as hell isn't going to help that.

    The report of 4 first rounders did not come from the Rockets, and neither did the discussions of Eric Gordon.

    The Wolves through their local beat writer came out strongly that the leaks did not come from the Wolves.......... and then conveniently claimed that the Rockets offer was only their bottom offer.

    The man that broke the news (Woj) then on ESPN conveniently says that the Rockets offer of 4 firsts is not enough, that the Rockets need to include Gordon......... he got that from the Wolves front office.

    Now, suddenly Woj is discussing the possibility of Butler going to the Sixers, after a Rockets source (Amick) shot it down.

    Wolfson relies on connections to the Wolves......... WOJ has a direct connection to the Wolves and in turn is reporting news in a way the Wolves like.

    I don't know if the Rockets end up with Butler........ it is clear that the Wolves would rather deal him elsewhere......... but a lot of basketball politicking is going on right now.

    Tom Thibodeau is not willing to let go of Jimmy Butler, that is the main problem. The Owner and other Front Office people need to step in and trade Jimmy willingly. When Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins are tired of you it's time to move on.

    Doubtful that Morey wouldn't have the backing of Tillman if resigning Butler to a long term contract wasn't an option.

    The current Rockets team's effort on the defensive side is seemingly lacking consistency.

    That being said, it looks like Harden being out is going to leave a pretty sizable hole on the offensive side too.

    Not sure if Butler really fits in here with the current mindsets, but if CP3 and Harden spot up more at the 3pt line we may be able to figure it out.

    What seems strange to me about the Sixers going after Butler is that in the last year these three players have been available:

    George
    Kawhi
    Butler

    Now, between these three, Butler is the older and the one who's used to play with the ball most so, the worst fit with Simmons.

    Why would the Sixers trade their good/best assets for him when they didn't trade them for players that all things considered were a better fit?

    I just don't think the Sixers will yield any of their top 10 draft pick talent for Butler. Maaaaaaaaaaaybe Saric along with Covington and such, and maaaaaybe if Butler would commit to staying there.

    Oh, and the anti-Houston thing? It's out there. I have a co-worker, decent dude, he's from Minnesota. You'd think Harden and CP3 owe him money.
