This series alone is why I'm glad Rox couldn't wait to get rid of this guy. Premiere defender my @$$, this guy is a joke that can't even guard Paul Pierce or Ray Allen. What specialty defender is Battier other than being a overhyped scrub?

So that makes him a POS? I am a huge basketball fan and revolve more time around it than I should; but, you take basketball too seriously.

wouldn't be that harsh, but i agree about him being terrible, and a large reason why they lost/are struggling. play shane battier 30 minutes/game, and you are handicapping yourself tremendously.

Shane was a decent player for most of his time with the Rockets, but his best skill now is falling down. He's way over-the-hill and embarrasses himself. But you can't blame him that Miami's roster is so pathetic that he plays 32 minutes in a situation like this instead of being a spot player.

The Heat are putting him in a situation where he cannot succeed.

I've been leading the "Battier sucks" movement for a while. Now that the homer glasses are off, more and more people are starting to see it.

I think Battier did a decent job in defensive end. But his offense game is really pathetic right now.

    He's always been overrated.

But a POS? Not at all.

    Ughh, AGE ALWAYS WINS.

I can't ball like I used to in my younger days. I can't throw down the hammer windmills anymore.

Basically yes. He has no business being a key rotation player at this point in his career.

also, wanted to say that this is the problem with competitive sports. We end up calling each other names and making fun of the bad kids.

Instead, after each game we should tell all the players "good effort. good job" And everyone should get a ring.
