I'm in the process of buying a house, but it needs a new roof.

I drove by the house late afternoon Saturday - a crew was taking the old roof off.

Late last night (Sunday night) there was a downpour. My first thought.... ruh roh!

I drove by the house this morning, and the roof hadn't been put on yet - only the underlay.

No biggie? Or should I expect water damage/leaks?

If by underlay you mean the rolls of felt underpadding, then yeah, as long as they completed/capped it you're good. That stuff is waterproof.

    OK, that is a relief.

    Thanks, aghast and Juan.
