Needs to get with Lucas tomorrow to start working on FT and 3ball.

Like this signing, even if he cannot help this season.

Career 34 percent from 3, better than I thought. Looks like we got a 3 and D project on the cheap. Good move Morey. I wonder if he knows that certain players may not be here next year...

nope. 2-way players don't count towards the active roster of 15

I like it. This is a good example of "buying low" on a player who could actually have a lot of value going forward.

Nwaba is coming off of a torn Achilles if I’m not mistaken. He probably won’t have the same bounce, but maybe he can turn into a Wesley Mathews type of player.

This isn’t the first time that Morey has wanted Nwaba. He came close to getting him in the past.

This is a very clever and creative deal by Morey. He is essentially giving him a massive prorated salary but it only comes to 900K in exchange for a player option that protects the Rockets if Nwaba isn’t healthy.

As a player he is an excellent fit. He is a very good defender and a very good defender. He is 6’5” with a legitimate 7’0” wingspan. He can get out in transition both offensively and defensively. Effort is never a problem for him when on the court. He is a good enough 3 point shooter and is only a 5% increase in his three point shooting from being an elite role player.

A lot of times fans and even teams dwell on what a player cannot do, especially if a player cannot put the ball on the floor and score.

He tore his achillies in November or December. He will have had an entire year to recover by the time the season starts next December. The Rockets think he will be the same player he was before because of his age and build but they have protection as his contract for next year isn’t guaranteed. He is a hard worker and a good dude so I’m optimistic.

I LOVED him pre-injury, hopefully he can shoot better and still has some of the defensive ability after he rehabs...sucks he can’t contribute during the bubble

Teams shot 42% when Nwaba was on the floor last year. The league average? 53%

Agree with all of this, he could be a good role player. Need more cheapies like this with upside.

Bruno, Thabo, Carroll, Green all expiring. If one of these guys isn't back on a team friendly deal, we at least have a rotation piece.

I doubt he’ll be at the same level BUT with the amount of protection in the contract it’s a low risk move. I also see we are leaning in heavily with the small ball. iHart was cut
