Roy Rogers is in as assistant coach. Confirmed directly via secret sauce. Not sauce of a sauce, but the original sauce. Can't say any more about it.

Rogers is an excellent big-man coach, very highly regarded around the league. He'll be a solid addition to the Rockets' coaching staff.

Thanks for the share. Will you ask him who the third unnamed assistant is? Ask about Battier!

We also need a defensive coach though.

The centrepiece of the Scottie Pippen trade comes back home. Warmly welcome!

Although I've met him once, I don't know him personally, so I can't ask. Not sure if he even knows.

He's been a highly-regarded and sought-after assistant for some time. Good hiring.

Roy Rogers is mostly effective because he has no problem going after selfish, lazy and entitled players that don't buy into team sacrifice and collectivity. He has a few screws loose.

I am guessing this means Morey's efforts to get Kenyon Martin on the staff didn't pay off. Martin would have kept some form of discipline and continuity as an assistant.

    I'd prefer Bullet.

Rex Kalamian is the third assistant.

Shane Battier has been offered front office and coaching positions with the Rockets and hasn't been interested.

morey/les are so terrible. they are ruining this franchise. i can't believe they are going to hire, as coach, a glass of cola with a splash of grenadine and a cherry. this is the last straw.

I think you might be thinking of Carlos Rodgers. Roy Rodgers never played for the Rockets....

So Roy, Rex + somebody else?

The somebody else will be the main assistant, defensive focused hero to save our coaching staff right?

From what I understand, Rogers isn't the lead assistant or the defensive guru, just the big-man coach.

    How so?

Rogers is the type of assistant the Rockets need, tough, angry, consistent and pushes players to play hard and together.

Morey really liked Rogers, and also Kenyon Martin. He believed Kenyon would be an exceptional assistant.

Bzedlick will run the defense. Rogers will work with bigs and also act as an enforcer. The hope is that Rex Kalamas agrees to be the assistant to D"Antoni and help with scouting. Currently Red has offers from Toronto, Wizards and Rockets.
