Piggybacking off @sam_amick tweet, Lakers/Rockets/Hornets discussing a deal that would send CP3 to LA, Pau to Houston.

    CP3 to LA.

Lowry, Patterson, Morris and picks to NO.

    Bynum or Pau to Houston?

If we do trade for Gasol then Dalembert has to be a package deal...Gasol at Center is not the answer but at PF...WOW.

If this is for Gasol, then I'm all for it.

Pau is a 7'1" PF/C who is an elite player. He's also locked up for the next four years.

He's only 31 (same age as Scola), and big men tend to last longer than guards in this league.

Plus, given Gasol's body type, he'll actually gradually become MORE of a center as he gets older and less mobile. He'll be 34 when his contract expires.

If it's for Bynum, . . . less enthused, but still a top center prospect who would go in the top-3 in next year's draft if he were eligible.

Either way, if Morey has determined that there is NO WAY that CP3 comes to Houston, this is not a bad way to cut their losses AND gain a star (or even superstar) player in the process.

Why would we give up Lowry? I would think Scola would be more likely the guy gone.....we need a PG.....

Pau would be very intriguing in Houston. But at what price?

Agreed, if you can't get the top dog, there is nothing wrong with incrementally improving your team.

If this trade does happen, then we're not getting Bynum or Gasol, that's easy.
It's probably a move to free up money. Maybe we lose Scola and gain Okafor?

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge. i bet we lose out on lowry still and end up with gasol or bynum. gasol, i wouldnt mind so much, but NOT for lowry. and bynum? heeeeeeeeeelllllll no.

of course, we could just be involved to absorb okafurs contract. and maybe then we wouldnt have to send out too much. maybe like flynn to NO so they have a point guard still? or dragic i guess.

I'd take Pau in Houston, he would be the best player we have had since t-mac and yao were healthy.

If we take Gasol though, we must keep K-Mart and Lowry at the minimum, no point in getting Gasol when you are going to just lose other players. Getting Gasol would clearly mean that Rockets are trying to win now.

If we don't have to give more than 1 of our core guys of Kmart, Lowry, or Scola, I'm ok with Bynum or Gasol. If we get Gasol, I think we could be involved in the DHoward sweepstakes.

    Can you imagine

    Lowry
    Kmart
    Morris/Bud
    Gasol
    DHoward

The Lakers are trying to do a deal for Chris Paul that will allow them to keep Andrew Bymum, front office source says.

give me bynum over gasol any day of the week.

Despite being injury prone this past few seasons, we have to consider his only 24yrs old. The guy is major force when his healthy.
