    Uh. Okay.

I feel like I was about to make a joke but Morey beat me to the punchline.

Why not. It's not that we did not take chances on unproven players before.
We sort of made Hayes. Well he made himself but we gave him a chance.

McHale mentioned yesterday that they are short on training camp bodies and Lowry/Flynn are running consistently, so first glance reasons for the signing would be -

    -training camp depth
-depth for a potential trade that might or might not happen

He was claimed off waivers so Im not exactly sure what that means as far as his contract goes. I do not believe his contract with GS was guaranteed anyways since he was pulled from the D-League last season, so even if its just a continuation of that contract or one similar Im 95% certain they can cut him before the season and spare minimal expense and roster space.

I'm thinking we signed him just for competitive reasons. I saw him play in the summer league last year and he did play well in his position. No real go to moves but seemed like an all around player. Doubt we'll keep him though.

Dude. Those stats mean crap and are very misleading since Lin only played in garbage time against scrubs when the game was already over

I like the cut of your jib, you've got moxy and I respect that. Rockets front office could use more of your type.

Not trying to get into this political debate, but he identifies with both Chinese & Taiwanese, and I don't think he's doing that for marketing reasons. His parents were both born in Taiwan but his mom is one that would be called "Extraprovincial person" or "Mainlander" in Taiwan. His maternal grandma is a China-born surgeon currently in New York, and goes back to China regularly at the age of 80+ and Lin is close to her. His maternal grandma's father is a revolutionary in Zhejiang Province, China's local history books.

A lot of people don't know this, but during the lockout Jeremy Lin played for a Chinese CBA team, against Taiwanese teams.
