Rockets Broadcasters under attack

Every broadcast crew are homers to a degree. But there are WAY worse ones than ours. SA, GS, Bos, Den, Utah, LAC, and Mem are all worse than ours.

SA has the worst BY FAR!

There are worse homers than the Rockets crew, but Bill Worrell saying Rajon Rondo was playing illegal defense during Harden's shot when that hasn't been a rule in like 15 year was pretty bad.

Still enjoy listening to him call the games tho.

 

Bill Worrell is a two-time NBA champion and in the international broadcasting hall of fame. He's also a University of Houston baseball legend. Show some respect, damnit.

Agreed. Don't forget the Pelican's crew...Almost threw up listening to those guys during the first two quarters....I will listen to Bill, Clyde, and Bull any day rather than those mentioned above.

Even though I watch our feed mainly I like to hear other team’s announcers. I can name you a lot of homers besides ours. And Dex and Bill aren’t the worse. Not even close.

 

I think they are quite nice, a little bit of homerism never hurts!

 

Bill and Clyde are definitely some of the worst there are in the league. I really can't stand Ralph Lawler either. I think only Cleveland is worse.

 

I grew up with Bill and Calvin. When I moved to california and first watched Chick Hearn announce for the Lakers, it was jarring to hear Chick's radio hybrid style. Bill and Calvin were so laid back and quirky.

Bill is an institution, but please ditch Clyde and don't look back.

 

I'm not the biggest fan of our announcers, they can be grating at times, especially Bullard and Ackerman, but I don't understand Rockets fans who watch the other team's broadcasts.

Those broadcasts are tailored to the opposition, you never get to see highlights of Rockets plays, never get to see Rockets stats or records broken, and most announcers are ridiculously biased towards their own teams. What's the good in that?

 

Bill and Calvin were a perfect tandem, wish they allowed Calvin to cast with Bill a few times this season.

 

Maybe it’s just me but I’ve always liked that Bill, Bull, and Clyde are homers.

Worrell is still good regardless of his flaws, Bull is bearable and has gotten better while Clyde is dreadful though funny. Ackerman is over the top, too much talking, but has his moments. At least he gets excited.

What I don’t like is how I feel all of our guys do not seem to know much about the opposition. Rarely give credit and even say things about the opponent that are not true. Also on clear fouls on our part refusing to acknowledge them even after replays deserves to be criticised.

I must say Bullard in particular has become less obnoxious about fouls and officiating. He admits his mistake s.
