Similar to the all-time NBA team challenge from a few years ago

You have to pick your five-man rotation on a $15 budget.

    $7 Player
    LeBron James

    $5 Players
LaMarcus Aldridge | DeMarcus Cousins | Anthony Davis
Blake Griffin | James Harden | Kawhi Leonard
    Chris Paul | Russell Westbrook

    $4 Players
Carmelo Anthony | Jimmy Butler | DeMar DeRozan
Andre Drummond | Paul George | Kyrie Irving
Damian Lillard | Paul Millsap | Karl-Anthony Towns
    John Wall | Hassan Whiteside

    $3 Players
Giannis Antetokounmpo | Eric Bledsoe | Chris Bosh
Derrick Favors | Marc Gasol | Al Horford
Dwight Howard | Serge Ibaka | DeAndre Jordan
Kevin Love | Kyle Lowry | Dirk Nowitzki
Isaiah Thomas | Dwyane Wade | Andrew Wiggins

    $2 Players
Bradley Beal | Mike Conley | Tyreke Evans
Kenneth Faried | Pau Gasol | Rudy Gobert
Gordon Hayward | Brook Lopez | C.J. McCollum
Khris Middleton | Chandler Parsons | Kristaps Porzingis
Zach Randolph | Jonas Valanciunas | Nikola Vucevic
    Kemba Walker

    $1 Players
    Everyone else

PG Mike Conley or Kemba $2
    SG Khris Middleton $2
    SF Lebron $7
PF Tristan Thompson $1 (didn't he beast them in the playoffs?)
    C M Gasol $3

Basically I'm just throwing scorers at them from the smalls, and an active PF on the glass to prevent Draymond helping on D. A lock down C defender who can pull Zaza away from the hoop rounds it out nicely.

Why does it have to be $15? Seems a bit low - or $7 for Lebron is too high
Lebron $7, Irving $4, Love $3, gonna be $16 right there isn't it?

    Westbrook $5
    Harden $5
    Gay $1
    Love $3
    Capella $1

And we could actually get it done and have Gordon, Beasley and DMo coming off the bench to rival Livingston, Iggy and Barbosa. I think we could even do it with Anderson instead of Love, if we got a decent backup PG and C also.

    Marc Gasol
    Zach Randolph
    Anthony Davis
    Kyle Lowry
    Mike Conley

The length and post play would destroy GS on the inside. Their entire team would be in foul trouble in the first half. All 3 of the bigs hit FTs at a more than respectable clip. Lowry and Conley can both put up points while controlling the tempo and getting the ball to the bigs.

    Agree.

    Looking at the Warriors,

Curry & Durant would be $6 or $7($5 based on their rankings)
Thompson & Green $4 or $5($4 based on their rankings)
    Pachulia $1

Any way you slice it, it's more than $15.

Why is Whiteside a $4 player?

And don't tell me it's due to the salary cap jump...look at the other player salaries there.

Can't be done. Warriors are at like $25-30 bucks. The only way to beat the Warriors is with Bran + another offensive player. Irving is the best offensive player in the league after Durant, Curry and Harden. Except Harden is more expensive and pairs worse with LeBron.

    Irving (4)
    Middleton (2)
    Crowder (1)
    LeBron (7)
    Thompson (1)

If I can get more pennies, you would grab players like Teague (1), Gay (1), Jokic (1), Reggie Jackson (1).

Also, why can't you form the defending champions under the $15 cap?

    Lebron $7
    Irving $4
    Love $3

= $14 and I still need two more players

Doesn't work this way...The key to the successful riot of the golden a$$ boys is that you have superstars on rising trajectory that get non-super star salary, aka Stephanie @ $2-3, plus the once in a life-time event super-jump of cap that enables stuffing in an additional $6 superstar, aka KD.

NBA screws this one up. Probably the last time we ever seen this happening.

So basically you need rim protection that can switch on anybody, and a bunch of elite 2 way players.

PG: Rubio (1) - best defender at pg, very capable of running any offense
    SG: Paul George (4)
    SF: Kawhi Leonard (5)
    PF: Kristaps (2)
    C: Al Horford (3)

    Conley (2)
    Butler (4)
    PG13 (4)
    Ryan Anderson (1)
    KAT (4)

1-3 and 5 are good on either end of the court, and everyone can switch. Concerned about the Draymond matchup, the most, but had a dollar to spend, and Ryan Anderson seemed like a good option. Can pull Draymond or whoever the 5 is, from the hoop.

    M Gasol 3
    Davis 5
    George 4
    Hayward 2
    Bradley 1

    Length, defense at each position.
    Adequate shooting.
size would wear gsw down through series.
    Bad matchups galore.
