France church siege: Priest 'beheaded' and hostage fighting for life as cops kill knifemen

A HOSTAGE situation broke out at a church in France as two knifemen were killed by police after they beheaded a priest and took two nuns captive.

A parish priest has been killed after having his throat cut by two knife-wielding men who stormed a French church.

The two knifemen entered the Church of the Gambetta at around 8:45am during morning prayers.

They took the priest, two nuns and two worshippers hostage before being shot dead by police.

A third nun is said to have escaped and raised the alarm.

The hour-long stand-off was ended when the knifemen were shot.

French President Francois Hollande is travelling to the scene following the shocking attack.

The hostage-takers were reported to have stormed the Church of the Gambetta at around 8:45am.

A large area was evacuated and cordoned off around the scene.

One resident was walking to church as the horror broke out.

He told French newspaper MetroNews: "I was going to go out and do my shopping when the police started shouting me to go straight home and barricade myself.

"There is a lot of agitation, the police are bulletproof vest and armed."

Muslims did the same with a Hindu priest in Bangladesh.

Were they "standing up for Islam"?

Were they "defending Islam from its enemies" in their own perception?

"It has nothing to do with Islam"?

I agree with you to an extent. What do you think they can do to start fixing the issue?

It's a shame these terrorist are using Islam as their platform and are twisting the religion to justify doing these things. God does not want this.

Any word on whether the killers entered the EU as part of the recent wave of immigrants that have invaded Europe, with the blessing of the EU and the leaders of these individual countries?

One of them was apparently known to feds and tried to take a flight to Syria in 2015. So this seems more like home-grown terrorists who were radicalized by ISIS (ISIS already took responsibiltiy and praised the two terrorists).

It is a war by the terrorists against the infidels, which certainly includes us.

It needs to be a war sticky.

I'll defend your right to be Muslim. I'll ALWAYS judge a Muslim on an individual basis. I will always love my Muslim family. However, the Quran and the life of the prophet does allow more than enough leeway in justification to perform these viscous types of attacks.

Multiculturalism here has failed. Groups live in their own ghettos with tense relations to each other.

Means different cultures living side by side doesn't work. Cultural integration is important to a nation.

THat has more to do with wealth class.

I know you aren't the educated type Dei(forgive me if I'm wrong. Your posts suggest this), but once you are at the professional working level such as engineering, multiculturalism seems to be working pretty damn fine. Brown Muslims seem to be well integrated and adapted in the U.S especially the ones who came here on student or work visas that require a high skill level.

    TexMex IS American food.

That is a good illustration of the idea of the melting pot, of a common culture where every culture flavors the broth.
