Poll: Compared to United Warriors, Rockets offense isn't complicated and defense isn't good.

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by ballscientist1, Apr 30, 2018.

?

Should the Rockets play more team ball and team defense than hero ball?

  1. Yes, at least Rockets need to team ball and shut down opponent 3 pointers.

  2. No, there is not a lot of offensive strategy in basketball unless you play for Warriors or Celtics.

    As of April 40, 2018
    Offense:
Playoffs Assist Per Game over 1.5 assists
    Warriors: 7 players (without Curry)
    Rockets: 2 payers

    Defense:
    Playoffs Opponent 3-point field goal:
    Warriors: 30.1% (best in nba)
Rockets: 39.7% (14th best in nba, better than Blazers)

Durant, Dray Green and Iguodala play all 5 positions in each game and make the offense more complicated.
There is no enough off ball movement for Rockets. Aren't there many players capable of this role? shoot me some mature words to calm me down.

    Note:
I was unable to edit poll: need to play team ball.

Where is this United Warriors term coming from?

And do you think the Rox as a team who played ISO the entire 82 games plus 6 playoff games, will mix it up all of a sudden?

The Rockets should keep doing what got them the best record in Basketball and has been a winning combination so far in the playoffs. They should continue to work on optimizing that system and improving.

If there are problems with it, they should make adjustments. There have not been problems with it thus far.

Seriously, this isn't the first time I've seen you type "United Warriors". What is that?

The Spurs isn’t a good offensive team. Bad samples.

Those three-point shooting numbers are not that meaningful. We're talking about six games total and the Spurs were in the bottom 5 of three-point shooting efficiency this season. Post history seems to suggest @ballscientist1 is a troll.

I think the only guy who joined and could be called "united" is KD........others were acquired or drafted.

At least JCDenton would have offered a graph or two.

As is, I'm gonna have to agree with Clutch: F- troll.

I would like to see more ball movement, the offense flows better when we're moving the ball

I swear, this guy self-proclaims as a "scientist", but he doesn't even understand the weaknesses behind the numbers he uses to substantiate his shiiiite.

This has been covered, a lot, already during this season.

The Rockets' offense and the "United Warriors" offense is not the same. Mostly because we have two of the best ballhandlers/playmakers in the entire league. The "United Warriors" do not, and their best playmaker hasn't played so far this season. Which is in no way saying that the Rockets' offense is better, just that the two teams use different methods for their historically great offenses and have all season long.

The raw numbers (like number of assists) do not tell the entire story and broad overstatements shouldn't be made based just on that.
