Big Al is a relic in today's NBA, but I'd still rather have him at $10M per year than a stiff like Mozgov at $16M.
Larry Legend accumulating players that make the team what it's been. A very solid playoff competitor, but capped at that. Crazy that they let go of Vogel, too. He seems like he'd maximize this new roster really well. So what are they now... Teague, PG13, Ellis, Young, Turner, Jefferson, CJ Miles, Jordan Hill. Are they going to try and resign Mahinmi then?
Jefferson is a solid player and they got him pretty cheap, but I'd not bank on his health and he's just too slow and cannot jump.
Loving the moves Indy has been making. Hopefully it's forcing the other EC teams to try and make moves to stay competitive too. Maybe LeBron will get some real competition for once in his eastern conference career..but i doubt it.
I remember Jefferson being a really really good big in Minny; in looking at his season stats, he had a double-double season just 3 years ago (23/11). Did injuries just screw the guy's game up, or what?
I don't mind him signing cheap. Some of these players need to come down from the clouds with the money they are asking
I don't honestly know if you can win in 2016 with Al Jefferson, but for his scoring ability and the current market that's an absolutely incredible bargain.
Indeed, Al Jefferson for $10 mil per year sounds much better than Mozgoz for $16 mil per year. At that price, he can come of the bench and it's still not a bad deal.
Pacers are having a great offseason. Adding Jefferson, Young, and Teague to the starting line up without giving up practically anything.
