The Warriors really are a perfect champion for this generation.

Somebody find them a safe space.

Is this Lacob's way of joining the #MeToo movement? Maybe he can go write an article on one of those SJW blogs about how he was stifled and suppressed by the other owners.

Soft fans, soft players, soft coach, soft owner. SOFT.

Not really a SJW nor safe space issue guys... it’s just Lacob continuing the tradition of GSW being a soft organization from the botton to the top.

Really? Trade for Ryan Anderson. Then you will know what persecution feels like. But, it won't be coming from the other owners. It will be coming from the fans of your team. You think it was a coincidence that Les sold the Rockets one year after signing Anderson.

I'm sure that feeling goes away quickly when he is cashing those checks. Frankly I don't care if his feelings were hurt because people were mad at him for destroying competition in the near future. The cost of being the boss is having to put up with the backlash from your decisions. You can't be the boss and only take the criticism YOU think is fair....

Did he just make this up? Not saying it didn't happen, but I don't even recall reading a single story about disgust with the Warriors owner related to the Durant signing. If other owners were muttering about that, then journalists surely would have picked up on it.

    Persecuted? Lol.

This shithead named his dogs John Galt and Howard Roark.

Poor rich people - they just can't win in our society.

So one billionaire gets the stink eye from other billionaires regarding a game none of them know anything about, and all of a sudden, that's persecution... welcome to California 2018.

They have it so easy....yet they keep proclaiming how hard everything is for them. I guess that's what happens when you have so little adversity. And whenever they lose...the excuses come rolling out.

As you should. There is no way you should have been able to sign him. The CBA and the league failed at its main job.

Honestly, I used to love watching the Warriors circa 2015 as I'm sure most of you on this board did as well.

They played basketball the right way. A complete team effort with ball movement and deadly 3PT shooting. The Splash Brothers. Scrappy Draymond and Iggy. The Warriors were a fun exciting team to watch and root for.

That is until they acquired Durant after a record setting 73-win season.

See, the thing about American professional sports is that it's all about NARRATIVES.

Fans care more about the mythology of the game than the actual game itself. That's why Clutchfans exist.

We do not simply watch for the best display of athletic abilities. That's what the Olympics games are for and also why they are held every 4 years and for a month only.

We want storylines, heroic feats, drama, controversy, breakup, failure, redemption, etc...

The problem with the Warriors is that their narrative has shifted. They went from underdogs, to a breakout season winning a championship, to acquiring a top-3 player and former MVP of the league who also happened to choke a 3-1 series lead to them before defecting.

That narrative is very hard to root for and even harder to justify especially when there is only a handful of superstars in the entire league. This abundance of riches doesn't match up with the mythology of the game anymore.

So what the Warriors' owner is feeling is the narrative flipping on his team. They are a dynasty, but nobody cares about them anymore. The love, the adoration, the mythology is... DEAD.

The sports media has spent the entire Finals spinning the LeBron mythology into a sellable narrative. Meanwhile, fans are tuning out and everyone is moving on from the season with no real joy or reason to celebrate. The Warriors championship is stale and just the last act of a foregone conclusion.

But wait... now it's the Rockets turn to one-up the Warriors with a massive, unfair, and lop-sided superstar acquisition of our own this summer.

    And guess what?

WE DON'T GIVE A F*CK ABOUT WHO PERSECUTES US. WE WANT LEBRON!
