If it's JVG, I couldn't ask for any better with who's currently available.

JVG's weakness has always been a lack of creativity on offense, but that's no longer an issue when you have a guy like Harden + Moreyball. We need to drastically improve our defense and rebounding. JVG's defensive system is the right guy for the job.

Yup. We clearly lacked effort/heart and leave the 2 guys who actually have it (KJ and Montrezl) on the bench until we're down by 30. Pathetic. He only makes changes in the last 5 mins of blowouts.

JBB is not a coach. He's a side effect.

Doesn't JVG have a short rotation? He's very stubborn in playing young guys IIRC.

Probably because most of the media figures JB is already gone the moment the season ends. Even local media types(Feigen, 790 AM) are openly discussing who the next coach will be in the middle of the playoffs and JB is an afterthought in these conversations. So why bother piling on someone like that?

Morey on the other hand will probably still be the GM next season. Harden will still be here. Dwight will still be in the league somewhere as a starting center. That's why they're getting so much heat.

Think about this for a second. There are 30 teams in the NBA and each have a head coach. So there are only 30 human beings on the entire planet that can be head coaches at any given time, and somehow JB Bickerstaff is one of them.

Coaching and GM decisions in sports are always fascinating to me. Kind of like Presidential elections, talent doesn't really seem to be drawn from the larger pool of society, but from a short list of former-players / family relations of former employees.

Think I remember that too. I remember fans were upset he never played Vspan. His teams always had a ton of older players.

At least JVG can't bring back his former Knicks players since they all retired.

JVG and Morey have a great relationship and he's attended multiple MIT Sloan conferences. I'm sure he's a lot more analytically savvy than his last coaching stint.

JB is wearing his "I'm getting fired tonight" shirt. Seriously, dude cannot dress himself.
