Angels leading the Padres right now...if things hold up, they’ll move past the M’s into 3rd and stay 3.5 back of the Astros. They own the H2H tiebreaker over us so our magic number would be 2 if they hold on and we do as well. They play San Diego tomorrow, are off Thursday, and finish with 3 at the Dodgers this weekend.
Oh I'm sure the Dodgers will be resting a lot for that series. They will probably be serving up long balls and hamburgers.
Had to edit my initial post as the Angels still have the Padres tomorrow before their off day Thursday. I was looking at 3 way ties as well, and we’d lose out to Anaheim due to our 4-6 record against them (we’d end up tied with them in games between the three teams). Edit: also was looking at wildcard possibilities since we’ll be tied with Toronto after tonight as long as we hold on. Toronto wins the tiebreaker over us based on a better last 20 intra-division record. However, the Astros would be the 2nd wildcard if Anaheim wins out, Houston wins one of their last 5 games, and Toronto loses out.
