We are not going to be able to contend with this ragtag bunch I'm afraid. The pitching is beyond bad....I definitely do not get standing pat at trade deadline. Hell, some of these guys shouldn't even qualify to throw batting practice. Reminds me of the pitchers in the old Home Run Derby show. PITIFUL.
That was a cool weekend, the 2018 Boston series. Of course the umps weren't letting the Red Sox get swept, Altuve was safe, What a sight to see. Not a Texans fan but that probably game helped the crowd too and love seeing the Patsies lose (though they didn't).
No, of course not. This team isn’t good enough. If it’s this team, the season is already over with. Thankfully there’s still a chance it will be a different team once the playoffs start and people are healthy or back on track again. That’s the only chance this group has though. The current incarnation isn’t anything even remotely special.
On the bright side, once the playoffs start, everyone is 0-0. Everyone with 0 at bats, pitchers with 0 IP, it resets. Anyone can get hot and start a deep run. For me, what I want more than anything is just to make the playoffs and go as deep as we can so the lost draft picks are worth less.
Agree....my fear is not making the playoffs...we should get better as some of the injured return. The pitching, as we all know, is woeful. Got to turn things around and FAST.

Half the roster has no business being in the majors....laughable. The pitching staff has to be one of the worst.....they are definitely friggin around and they are going to look up and be left out. As I type...good ole Sigh Sneed...I'm yawning here. Sneed should be in Alaska catching fish through the ice.
He’s got a 6.00 ERA and I’m honestly shocked it’s not higher. Turns out he has a nice collection of unearned runs, which makes sense with the eye test.
The Good: Well, what good was there? Springer keeping his hitting streak alive? Correa the only Astros with a 2 hit game, that's not bad. The Bad: Cy Sneed is just Sigh, Sneed. Doesn't belong. Stranded way too many. Scrubb's ERA has a lot of luck, but walks will eventually catch up to him. The Ugly: First time the Astros are shut out this year. No extra base hits. Mariners only 2 games behind. Look out, objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.
