To borrow a word from this thread... his out-of-shape state and overall weight gain has been inexplicable.

Feliz, Giles, and Devenski are all closing in on 100 Ks... granted Devenski had a handful of starts to help him get there (5), but pretty impressive for a set of relievers.

    If he's hitting well, he's just a jolly, easy-going big-boned loveable character.

If he's not hitting well... he's an overweight slob who needs to do a better job of keeping in shape.

All I can say is that he doesn't just look big... he looks really fat. He's only 22. Unless he's a sumo wrestler, there would not be a down-side to him dropping a few pounds this off-season. As it is, he wouldn't be penciled in to be the everyday guy, something this front office was likely banking on for 2017 on. He needs to utilize every possible avenue to improve.

Maybe that's why his swing got so long, he has to get the bat around his gut.

Is it me or does Tyler White look like he slimmed down a bit? He looks a little more athletic than earlier in the season.

i mean, how much would have had to go catastrophically wrong if i told you at the beginning of the season that brad peacock would be our best pitcher going into the final 3 weeks of the race for the postseason

Inexplicable that a supposedly too deep farm system that annually gets threated to be pillaged in the rule V, would not have any potential other options... but then again, you could do a helluva lot worse than having guys with previous MLB experience ready to pitch as well as they can, with little notice.

But that's where he gets his extra power from... right?

Hilarious. But then Chris Carter carried the team into the playoffs last September, after being a liability for most of the year at the plate.

And that we still had an outside chance of making the playoffs?

I'd think you lost your marbles....

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Hopefully that means he's been working hard to improve.

Somehow we are 2-1 in games Peacock started, and would be 3-0 if a strike 3 didn't bounce way off Castro's shin guard.

    That is remarkable.

Carter just set the single season Brewers record for ...

    strikeouts.

Now that he has the record set, the pressure is off and he can play out the season stress free.
