NY Times: U.S. soldiers told to ignore child rape by Afghan allies

Unfortunately not surprised. I had heard of many earlier reports that anti-Taliban militia were committing all sorts of human rights violations with US and other allied forces looking the other way. One of the reasons the Taliban were able to conquer almost all of Afghanistan and continue to have a lot of support is the corruption and abuses committed by many of the warlords who opposed them.

 

There was something on Frontline about this very topic. Considering how little play this gets around here...

 

This happens just about anywhere that has a 'male' only dominated society with zero to nill women rights.

 

Just another example of disgusting things that go on in Muslim countries.

 

I came across this 2010 piece. The police ain't exactly all that: illiterate, drug addicts, and physically challenged.
