As you all know, I'm a guitar geek....so I have to post this.

I just exchanged my Gibson Les Paul (something similar to what Slash uses) for a custom shop guitar from Japan built in the 1980s.

It's from a company called ESP, and the luthier who built my guitar by hand was the head luthier of the best custom shop in Japan for ESP. He was the luthier who hand built Metallica's custom ESP guitars during the same era.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Lol, yeah first time I've seen him post too.

Anywho that's a very pretty axe. Not really my thing, but I'm sure it's lovely. I really like the frets.

Watching that video reminded me of my high school guitarist who also played a red Strat.

Nice playing, OP. I especially like your cat making an appearance. That was totally metal. I gave your video a like.

The neck looks shorter than normal, or is that just my imagination?

Every kid should learn how to play an instrument. There's nothing like that feeling you get when you start to get good. You just want to get better and better and pretty soon it takes over your whole life (which is a good thing).

Didn't notice the video earlier, is that you playing? If so, sick. Nice job.

I know what you mean. Once you start getting into an instrument, you become addicted and it becomes a part of your life.

The neck is 22 fret. Usually electric guitars are 22 or 24 frets. Maybe because the neck is fat making it look shorter.

Yea that brown sound-esque crunch says it all, but I'm sure a lot of that is coming from the guitar itself (I'm sure you shelled out for top notch pickups as well if you gave up a gibson).

I've never put too much weight into ESP, been PRS for a while but that sound was killer and definitely deserves its own thread.

Congratulations on the new acquisition! Also, very nicely done in the video. I'm a PRS honk myself, but that's a beautiful sound coming from an ESP.

The pickups are dimarzio HS1 and HS3.

PRS guitars are beauties of its own level. I was considering a PRS before making this exchange. Which PRS do you own?
