I wouldn't put it past Jimmy to U-turn at the last second. I sincerely doubt the Rockets would have gone with a full-court media press like they did if they didn't think they were going to get him. It's very telling that they went radio silent as soon as he made his decision, and didn't re-emerge until the Westbrook trade was announced. Now that they have a deal in the books, they're starting to feel themselves a little bit again.

 

if that was the intent then it failed miserably as we gave up 2 picks + 2 swaps for one of the least efficient players in history

Clippers went from 51-31 to 42-40 (and added Tobias). Maybe their future and flexibility improved, but it's a hard sell to imagine they got better, IMHO.

 

what you say makes sense logically. but at the same time, Nook has been largely accurate to date and going back to last year had insisted that 1) jimmy wanted to be The Man with his own team and 2) jimmy was all about the glitz glamour ie. LA/NYC/MIA

 

well considering the clips only won 42 games and missed the playoffs after they traded cp3, they didn't get better
