I think he's just managing expectations. Not being a downer per se. He's just saying he's gotta work with what he's got and see how the pieces fit. Obviously it hasn't clicked in perfectly yet - but that's to be expected when there are so many new guys. Training camp hasn't even started yet.

He always talks about the negative part of the team/players. It doesn't mean anything except we watch their workouts.

I understand that he has to temper expectations, but c'mon, there's no optimism whatsoever. The way he's painting our roster makes it seem we'll be the worst team in the league. Even the worst teams the Bobcats, Wizards, and Magic has some degree of hope.

He's probably preparing himself and the fans for the worst so we wont boo him. Now if we somehow find ourselves to be fighting for a playoff spot, that would be an added bonus -- win/win. Strategery!!!

I'm glad McHale doesn't say the usual vacuously positive fluff.

If you want a cheerleader, watch the Rockets Power Dancers.

Nope, Lin doesn't need to adjust his style. His "style" is the reason he's had some success and projects to have more success. He's a PG; his job is to break the defense down to create scoring opportunities. You don't do that by jacking up jumpshots all day. Turning him into the Asian Jimmer Fredette or Mike Bibby wouldn't be very smart.

Jumpshots open up the penetration game. Those two are not mutually exclusive.
In any case, Lin will be shooting more floaters this season. Which will mean getting less physically abused.
